Audio Bullys - "Snake"

I think the thing that makes this track work so well is the fact that it doesn't have very many layers to it; there's that killer groove, a couple of sound-effects and the Nyquilized vocal line. That's it. In this age of ostentatious over-production it's a realy contrast (compare the rolling, organic beat to the equally fantastic but blatantly artificial "Cry Me A River" beat; look closely enough and you'll find a kitchen sink in there).

There's a similar sparseness that you find in The Streets only the musical focus is on exactly what I key into in most music, making this one of my favorite tracks of the year.

its also Dinsdale and Franks favourite track according to the interviews they've given. i prefer many others on the album though.

It sounds like Sonic Youth's "Protect Me You"!

I knew I liked Audio Bullys after hearing "We Don't Care" and "The Things" but I completely fell in love with them based on "Snake" and "Turned Away".

i keep getting this urge to speed up 'Snake' and mix it with @440's 'Krupa' - must...resist...bizarre...mix choices...
