FYI...

On June 27th Loews State Theatre in Times Square Manhattan begins showing two hours of spectacular Led Zeppelin live concert footage, digitally restored and remixed in surround sound by Jimmy Page himself!

The footage, taken from LED ZEPPELIN DVD, is the very same film which premiered one month before, on May 27th, to rapturous reviews and thundering standing ovations. The special event runs from Friday June 27 through Thursday July 3 - cost is only $4.95 and showtimes are 8pm and 11pm. As a bonus - head to FYE locations to pick up a coupon for free popcorn at the show.

LED ZEPPELIN DVD

Clocking in at nearly five and a half hours, LED ZEPPELIN DVD features performances from: London's Royal Albert Hall in 1970, their triumphant run at London's Earl's Court in May 1975; and their record-breaking shows at England's Knebworth Festival in August 1979. Also included are songs from New York’s Madison Square Garden in July 1973 and extremely rare television appearances and promotional clips.

Let the classic rocking commence. Or continue, for some of us.

I'll hope they can book it at the EMP theater...

EMP = Ugghh, what a dreadful place that is. It already looks like a dated eyesore.

I'll be in the front row with my guitar like we used to do at midnight showings of "The Song Remains The Same" to properly learn the solos.

They should master it for IMAX! I'd be happy to run that as long as I never have to see the Matrix again.

I just picked up the DVD and the 3CD thingy today--disc 1 so far is fucking great and sounds really really good. My girlfriend won't let me watch the DVD with her around, she does not understand music that's not about kittens or Calvin Johnson or whatever.

check out the 79 footage on that dvd (try "the ocean") and see how live zep of that era measured up, in terms of power/intensity/energy, to the clash or pil or the damned or whomever. (hint: zep wins.)

the ocean rocks

I'll second adam's IMAX request. I would shit fire if I could see that.

it's also worth noting that zep were never compelled to wear jumpsuits on stage.

The Zeppelin DVD has made my year, so far. It couldn't get more perfect.

Just got back from seeing it at the Loews (tonight was the last night). Holy fuckin' hell, what a band. You guys are all OTM re "The Ocean." That "Misty Mountain Hop" was stupendous too.
