the factory song v. the cocaine song v. the student song. it is born in the usa, obviously. plus bruce giving an amazing acoustic rendition. plus his yelps of ROCKING OUT near the end of the song.

Bruce is just a strange, bizarre, classic monolith. The second I haven't really heard (aside from the sample in Limp Bizkit's "Livin' It Up) and the third really doesn't blow shit up without the video (if THAT). I wanna give it to Bruce but I heard "Take The Money And Run" on the bus last night and it was so good (esp. drumwise) that I wanna hear more of this Eagles jive before I simply ASSUME that Bruce is the pinnacle of this particular TS.

don't get me wrong, i struggled with this, but Born in the USA kills Life in the Fast Lane. Dave Q will agree with me; but Born in the USA is more evocative of life in American than Paranoid Android or Life in the Fast Lane.

Is life in America really that repetitive?

A better comparison would be between "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" and "Paranoid Android" because clearly with its 3 disparate songs mashed together, "Rosalita" is Bruce's "Paranoid Android".

Oops...I'm sorry...that wasn't the first verse of "Born in the USA"

Of course it's "Born in the U.S.A." I mean, Bush jr would never use a Radiohead song as his campaign theme.

Well, that says it all, doesn't it? I'll pick the one that ISN'T American, then.

(That said, Life In The Fast Lane is a damn fine song. I nicked the guitar riff for one of the songs on our album and no one even noticed! Astonishing!)

"Bush jr would never use a Radiohead song as his campaign theme."

"Electioneering" could fit.
