i'm not that big of a Santana fan, but i like some of his stuff well enough ... his earliest stuff's pretty good, good guitarist with an interesting sound. but has there ever been a more pointless song than "i'm winning"?

It feels almost sacrilegious to crash the aesthetic and smear the blank landscape beneath this thread title by posting, like stepping out across freshly fallen snow, but I love that no-one has attempted to mount a defence here. I’ve been watching this thread today and so far the only thing that moved was some tumbleweed blowing across the webspace. And now there is nothing but me and all this space, space, space, space… Hey wow, echo, echo, echo, echo… Hello, hello, hello…??? It’s pretty eerie here actually, in this chasm created by Tad’s irreducible poser. Kind of cold and way too quiet. I’m gonna go and sit down over there, smoke a fag and see if anything turns up…

Hey Julio, over here, up by the crumbling pinnacles and outcrops of code... it's quite a good view out over the barren wasteland of Tad's brainchild.

tad is gonna have to explain what's so 'interesting' abt the sound being emitted from santana's guitar.

i. the santana section of woodstock is one of the most exciting bits of music in woodstock — what happened that he couldn't sustain this?
ii. didn't he say in the south bank prog that "each note was a testicle to be squeezed" or something? (i think i may have sexed this quote up a bit)

Some pissed-up pen-pusher spook told me, err, I mean, I have it on good authority that Santana was a top Iraqi spy throughout the 80's.

four months pass...
no-one will defend "i'm winning"?

mr. sinkah was 100% OTM re santana at woodstock.

I like it. It brings back memories of AM radio, driving around in my parents car... good tune. I downloaded the MP3 of it about a year ago because I wanted to hear it again.

is the lyric ... "turned around / satan must have woke her" ?

'the santana section of woodstock is one of the most exciting bits of music in woodstock — what happened that he couldn't sustain this?'

Carlos Santana/Steve Perry = Tyrell/Batty
