At the time, he was trying to work a deal with Daniel at Mute to reissue theentire ClockDVA back catalogue, digitally remastered and with new covers, liners notes, etc, etc. This all fell through due to in-fighting amongst many ofthe original members over credits and other miscellany.
To make matters worse, some former members allowed Nextera to reissue BuriedDreams without the consent of other members. This eventually was what lead tothe collapse of the deal with Mute. I've been asked by Adi, Paul & Deanto not discuss any more of particulars of the problem.
Since then I have completely lost touch with Adi. His e-mail bounces. Hisaddress was lost in my recent move. I have been in contact with Paul Browse andDean Dennis within the last year.
Paul Browse & Nirto Karsten Fischer released a new album under the name ofVisions Of Excess. The album was called - Sensitive Disruption was released onMarch 5th, 2002 through - Minus Habens Records.
Dean Dennis solo project Sector's third album Yellow Room was released onShadow/Instinct Records on February 12th, 2002. A new Sector 12" was releasedby Sonic Groove Records called Morpheus during 3rd week of January 2002.
A lot of this is covered in minor detail at http://www.clockdva.com,the sorely out of date and poorly coded web site that I sort of run.
Jester"
That is the latest news I can find. I liked Clock DVA.

Interfisch was the label that Dimitri Hegemann ran before he started the doing UFO in Berlin in the late 80's. Another band that was on Interfisch was Final Cut. Final Cut was a Detroit based industrial group who happened to have Jeff Mills as a DJ. While they were doing studio work for a Final Cut album Mills happened to run into a session pianist by the name of Mike Banks. Mills eventually left Final Cut over artistic differences and got in touch with Mike Banks. This collaboration turned into Underground Resistance. UR tried like hell to get a response from the first wave Detroit labels but everybody was too busy taking care of business in Europe, so they decided to start their own label and do it themselves.
As industrial music gave way to acid house in the Berlin dance scene Dimitri Hegemann started to change the talent he was booking for The Atonal Festival in Berlin, UR were one of the first techno acts that kick started techno in continental Europe. In 1991 the UFO had to close, and Dimitri had to find a new venue for his club; he found his new venue the basement vault of the Wertheim Department store in East Berlin. The German word for vault is Tresor.
Once the club started going, Dimitri decided to start a label for the club. The first release on Tresor was X-101 by Underground Resistance. If you look at your Tresor records you will see in small print that Tresor is a division of Interfisch.

although I bought "Ha"/"Zulu" and other The Anti-Group releases at the time, it's only recently that I've become aware of a couple more T.A.G.C. tracks that are strong: search "Big Sex" and "Morpheus Baby" ("to sleep in the arms of MORPHEUS, baby!") (find the vocal version, not the instru jazz), both tracks are (on) The Anti-Group singles or E.P.s.
Advantage will forever be my fave ClockDVA album (one of the only LPs to successfully scratch my 154 itch), but Buried Dreams may be the single most powerful Adi Newton document (Advantage = Orson Welles, Buried Dreams = Kurz/de Sade).
Thirst is also great and a good partner to 23 Skidoo's Seven Songs.Advantage has wonderfully over the top lyrics that continue to resonate with me.
DESTROY: The Cool Trane Is Here live bootleg of Advantage tour after Adi had left and backing vocalist sang random/weak shit over the top. the band still pulls off the music pretty well, but if you ever want to hear how much difference Adi's lyrics & vocals make...!

someone please post a link to the video for "Resistance" - awesome!

I am more of an old-school Clock Dva fan, stuff like "Brigade" and the first album White Men In Black Suits. I also really like Thirst and Advantage. Clearly I need to find a copy of Buried Dreams, I wasn't all that thrilled with the 12" singles on Wax Trax at the time and had given up by the time the album came out.
Clock Dva also have two great tracks on the Fetish Records compilation The Last Testament.
There is a 7" mix of The Anti-Group's "Big Sex" that I love, more concise and pwowerful than the 12". ALso search the EP ShT, not all of which was reissued on the CD version of Digitaria.

4 Hours off Thirst is a great CDVA tune.

having done some research and listening to thirst at a friend's house, it would seem their wax trax stuff is what i'm after. thirst sounded cool, but absolutely nothing like "the hacker". seems quite an unlikely transition from fairly serious organic post-punk to camp industrial disco

White Souls in Black Suits = Chrome + Blurt.

Adi was also in The Future, which was the pre-Human League group. If you like "The Hacker" or stuff like early Cabaret Voltaire, you might like that Human League pre-history comp The Golden Hour Of The Future.

cool I did not know that!
― sleeve, Saturday, 14 February 2009 21:15 (seventeen years ago)
Mind you, he was never in the band at the same time as Phil Oakey. It was Adi leaving that prompted Ware and Marsh to recruit Oakey.

(although there might have been a slight overlap, but it's not made totally clear in the liner notes, however detailed they are.)
