I can't recommend highly enough the Tascam CD-302's. Dual CD unit, insane number of features, onboard looping & sampling, can remember cue points, loops, etc. for up to 1000 tracks. I think they're about $700 now, a great bargain.

If you already spin vinyl, you may want to look at Pioneer decks - they make the most vinyl-esque CD decks. The CMX-3000 dual is very well done and easy to learn for about $900. The CDJ-1000 single unit is the current top of the line model, but about $1000 each.

If you're looking for something cheap, make sure it has instant start if you're planning on beatmatching (or even if you're not). This is similar to the direct drive/belt drive feature on turntables - if the CD player doesn't have instant start, there will be an unpredictable gap between hitting play and the start of the track. You can find dual CD decks for around $300 at the low end.

This guy just showed up at my place for a few days with a Final Scratch system..Itching to have a go of it

but i suppose you need to have the turnatables already for that.
