how many records have you borrowed off other people in the last year?

the number has dwindled significantly thanks to downloading i guess. the last CD i borrowed was a friend's copy of 'Kid A', but that was well over a year ago and I can't think of anything in the last 12 months.

if you did borrow some, did you copy them or not? did you buy your own copy? or have you just kept them and pretended you gave it back already?

None. I haven't borrowed a CD in years; I don't know people who listen to music I want to hear, unfortunately.

In just the past week I've borrowed:

Talib Kweli's Quality (WAAAAAAAY better than I expected!)
some Zapp Mama album (I can't remember the title OH NO! It's great!)
Praxis' Warszawa or s'um like that (kinda tweaky, but great too)

ditto to oystein and ditto on the embarrassment. i did borrow a friend's copy of the vaselines, but only b/c i lost mine (and i had incidentally burned his copy for him).

The friend of mine who I usually want to borrow CDs from has a strict no-borrowing rule. He'll burn stuff for me, though -- which is nice, but sometimes I want to hear it first so as to not clutter my collection with something I find meh.

Currently borrowing: a Mountain Goats CD (I forget the title; it's an old one.). Just returned: Morvern Callar soundtrack.

2002, prolly around 100 lps & cds, not including libraries [double that number, i travel a lot and have cards all over the place]. prolly copied around a third of them.

can't imagine buying my own copies: i spend the same large amount of money every quarter on music, and copying's just a supplement to that.

downloading is always just a sampling question that needs to be answered, never for general listening.

I don't borrow CDs because if I like them, I have to give them back. Which saddens me. :-(

I mainly seem to borrow films. Lots of those!
