Total breach of ethics, I know, but I'm putting some stuff up on ebay and some of it is stuff people on here have asked me for

For anyone who was asking about stuff like Universal Indians "Thrist of the Worm" one sided 12", Sunroof! - Bower related stuff, NNCK "Playing Nowhere Never" cdr (singles and 10" comp), Reynols test pressing (20 copies!!), Bardo Pond early 7", and other NZ noise / drone / indie shite, check my ebay listings. Again, a thousand pardons for pimping material goods on this fine board, but i'm tired of dumpster diving and dodging the gas company, and I wanna give my pals here at ILM first crack at being gouged. Rock on.

and your ID is...?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 17 July 2003 04:12 (twenty-two years ago)

roger_adultery. sorry for not mentioning that. most of the stuff will be up in a few hours

roger adultery (roger adultery), Thursday, 17 July 2003 04:18 (twenty-two years ago)

$210.00?! man, they must have some good crack up in new york. expensive, too.

your null fame (yournullfame), Thursday, 17 July 2003 07:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, with folks spending $200 for Bradley / Campbell cassettes that can easily be bootlegged / duplicated by less ethical folks than me, and Animal Collective LPs that came out a year ago going for $178, $210 is a steal, and that IS the Buy It Now price, by the way, the reserve is way less. I was offered $200 for this almost a year ago, during less, erm, 'troubled' times, and refused.

Precedent, my friend, precedent. Good luck finding it elsewhere, including John Olson's house.

That said, I'm more than willing to trade it, lest you think I'm some sort of gross capitalist - want my list?

roger adultery (roger adultery), Thursday, 17 July 2003 07:16 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, send that list my way, i'll see what i can do.

your null fame (yournullfame), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

(and we live in a sad and scary world - did the bradley/campbell and animal collective stuff go for that much on ebay?! shit, i thought muslimgauze's "return of black september" was pricy.)

your null fame (yournullfame), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Totally. It's bonkers, dude. I always look at 'completed items' out of curiosity and as a guide / pop culture barometer.

Check yr email.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

oh shit null, yr email came back. oh well i'll just post it here:

here's a sort of 'off the top of my head' want list. Despite wifey's protests, i'd always rather trade than sell.

all this on vinyl unless otherwise noted:

Noah Howard's Black Ark
Jim McCarthy (Godz) - Alien
David Wertman Sun Ensemble - Earthly Delights
People's Victory Orchestra & Choir - Weltschmerzen
Jeanne Lee - Conspiracy
Jackie O Motherfucker / Vibracathedral Orchestra split
Jonas Palm - Ze Wormnest
Phil Musra - Creation Spaces

roger adultery (roger adultery), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

hell crap damn ass. don't have any of those at all. oh, well.

your null fame (yournullfame), Thursday, 17 July 2003 09:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Roger get in touch, I've got an extra copy of weltschmerzen. And that Musra lp will be re-issued soon if you want to save a couple 100.

john allen (john allen), Thursday, 17 July 2003 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that certainly is a heck of a price for Universal Indians. Is Wolf Eyes and related stuff that desirable now?! What could I get for the Universal Indians / Gravitar split lp?

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Thursday, 17 July 2003 19:57 (twenty-two years ago)

(how many emails do you think john olson got today hahahahaha)

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 17 July 2003 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

they've already posted to the hanson/american tapes list about this, actually - seemed pretty amused at the $210 thing. they should just get on it and reissue some of those early things via bulb or something. dammit.

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 18 July 2003 03:00 (twenty-two years ago)

seriously, should I sell that UI/Gravitar thingy? Is it rare?

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 18 July 2003 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't think it's rare on the order of "thrist of the worm," which is like 99 copies, i think. (rog?) shouldn't sell it anyways because it rules and if u do ur gay etc.

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 18 July 2003 07:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Thrist of the Worm was only 50 copies.

I just spoke to Tovah (dead machines) and she sez the Wolfize boys are planning to slowly reissue the AmTapes back catalog (almost 300 friggin' releases, for chrissakes) in uniform packaging (a la Dicks Picks or U Sound Archive, take yr pick) which is a great idea. I have a lot of it, but not even close to 1/4th, and it all RULES.

As far as the UI / Gravitar split, I'm not sure, I've seen that one around, but I'm sure it's worth a lot to someone. My price for TOTW was based on actual offers from people, and like i said, the reserve is less than half of the Buy It Now price. I really don't want to even part with it, it's a GREAT record, but, you know, bills. Fuck a straight job, yaknowhutumsayin?

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 18 July 2003 11:04 (twenty-two years ago)

just to be clear, man, i'm not condemning you for selling it for whatever the market will bear - stick and move, as onyx said - just kind of amazed and horrified at what people will pay. seems kind of early for the collectorscum mentality to be kicking in for that particular scene or whatever... but get the money!!

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 18 July 2003 12:29 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, no, man, totally, no offense taken at all, in fact I remember being home alone shouting 'WHAT??" out loud when i saw a no neck album that's still in print going for over $100. It's absurd. But for some folks who weren't lucky enough to be around (or, in this case, to actually KNOW John for chrissakes, cuz that was the only way you got a copy of Thrist of the Worm), at least they have the opportunity to hear this stuff. I paid waaaaay too much for the Terry "Rojvi" album, for instance. And i just rationalized it by thinking of the extra dough as a fine for not being hip to it when Fusetron had a boatload for $12 or whatever. My bad, you know?

roger adultery, Friday, 18 July 2003 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

There is a copy of the animal collective live lp on amazon for $30, which i thought was steep.
I can't wait til someone decides to sell one of the 50 copies of the eric copeland (from black dice) solo lp. I feel like noone even knows about it. people will freak.

Magic City (ano ano), Friday, 18 July 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah but it's terrible, so don't freak too hard
