not really a remix I think, just kind of uhm uses it as a launching pad? I dunno. I heard the last half of it on the radio the other day, it was kinda southern rap sounding, but I'm not really sure. (No, not the Roots track.) Anyone know it?

If you dig that, does anyone like the Wyclef Jean remix of Another One Bites the Dust? Personally, its no original, but the dropped bass line is pretty cool... Though a posthumous remix is always kinda creepy for whatever reason..

there was a track which was basically a re-working of 'we will rock you', and featured dj afrika islam, i believe. he was cutting up the beat and such, and there were a few other classic hip hop drum rolls and sounds thrown in to boot, the intro noises to 'ufo' for one. then there was a second section where a band kicked in and really rocked out. so whereas in the queen song where it switches to 'we are the champions', this version had a big drum roll and then rawkin (if that makes any sense) - i believe flea played on that part

that version was on hollywood basic records i think

and actually if anyone has a cd of that, i'd be interested in possible trading. i had a recording of it on cassette somewhere, but i bet it's lost.

I thought it was really tasteless for Wyclef to give a post-mortem "shout out" to Freddie Mercury, which is why I also loved that track so much. wyclef almost seems calculatedly clueless at times, bless him.

Ron, I think you're thinking about the Queen remixes album (or 12" maybe) that came out on Hollywood Basic. I don't have the full album, but I think I have a couple tracks from it on a label comp CD. I know there's at least one mix on there by Rick Rubin. If you want a copy, let me know and I can give it you at the next FAP or something.

(especially if it's got that track on there) that would be really cool! thx :)

for clarity's sake, "really rocked out" does not necessarily mean "really rocked out", in the sense of "really rocking out"
