disco mix in creation

I'm making a disco mix... or at least trying. I want it to be some kind of middle ground between totally pop disco, and obscure disco. I also want it to be only disco from the original "movement". I'm seriously thinking of including these songs:

"another on bites the dust" by queen
"miss you" by the rolling stones
"is it all over my face?" by the loose joints
"ooh what a night" by silver convention
"i feel love" by donna summer
"ymca" by the village people
"take your time (parts 1 & 2)" by sos band
"staying alive" by the beegees
"good times" by chic
"disco to go" by the brides of funkenstein
"tell you today" by the loose joints
"disco inferno" by the trammps

any input is appreciated.

side question: is "december, 1963 (oh what a night)" by the four seasons disco?

If you want to lean a little closer to the lesser-known stuff "You Should Be Dancing" is a bit less played than "Stayin' Alive". You should also definitely throw in Instant Funk's "Got My Mind Made Up", Space's "Magic Fly", Giorgio Moroder's "I Wanna Funk With You Tonite" and George McCrae's "You Don't Know". And the theme from "The Warriors", which should be on every mix CD ever. And if you're feeling ultra-cheeky, Van Halen's "Big Trouble".

Konk - Baby Dee
There But For The Grace Of God I Go - Machine
I love Music - The O'Jays
Act Like You Know - Fat Larry's Band
You're The Only One For Me - D-Train
I Love New York - Klein and MBO
The Chase - Georgio Moroder
Disco Circus - Martin Circus
I'm A Man - Macho
Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - In Deep
Ring My Bell - Anita Ward

I threw in a bit of italio-disco, but it all works in the end.

Aaron, is Bohannon's earlier stuff too obscure or underground? Cos here there are some tantalising glimpses of wild pitch house in the style of, say, DJ Pierre. Placing the repetitive groove first, like a disco James Brown, he deserves some credit. Just a suggestion.

Gloria Gaynor: "Never Can Say Goodbye", has to go there. I second the 4 Seasons (very much on the side of pop though) and Bohannon. Don't forget La Bionda!

Bohannon isn't too obscure or underground. What song(s) should I download?

Bohannon: "Disco Stomp" obv., but "Foot Stompin Music" might be even better in a don't-listen-dance way.

(Somebody mentioned La Belle Epoque btw? No? "Miss Broadway" then.)
