Things that occur to Roger Adultery while he watches Metal Mania on VH1 Classic

1) That Geoff Tate of Queensryche looks WAY too much like Angelina Jolie for me to sleep comfortably tonight or ever again

2) That Sum 41 / Blink / etc have the same vocal style as the guy from the Killer Dwarfs, except that the guy from the Killer Dwarfs doesn't rely on auto-tune and actually has a bit of style

3) That Quiet Riot were much, much, MUCH worse than anyone remembers

What's auto-tune? Built into mic's or like those guitar tuner needle things? If I knew there was auto-tune for mics I would've started singing a long time ago.

Auto-Tune is a plug-in for ProTools that allows anyone to sing in perfect pitch. I'm not too ProTools savvy, but from what I understand it DOES work like a guitar tuner, it hears the note yr singing and then it MAKES the note correct. I confess The Blood Group have used it but only for my vocals and only on harmonies.

Most obvious examples are all of Cher's singles and that awful, awful pop punk song that goes "sleepin' with my clothes on" or whatever, you can actually hear the Auto-Tune correcting the pitch.

auto tune is an effect made from the antares company you might know it turned way up in cher's hit "believe".

"Auto-Tune Real-time Pitch Correction - Antares's world-renowned Auto-Tune technology lets you correct the pitch of vocals (or solo instruments), in real time, without distortion or artifacts, while preserving all of the expressive nuance of the original performance."

oh you dont need to use protools either! it comes as an actual hardware piece or in vst/direct x plug in or as a standalone program.

Jeez. There's also paint by numbers software that lets you draw to create music tracks. Pretty soon, everyone will be a rock star and then we can all be happy.

Which Queensryche and Killer Dwarfs songs did they play? (Sum 41's and Blink 182's voices actually seem different to me.) Quiet Riot wasn't great, no.
