Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Sunday, 20 July 2003 06:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I had to sell my Epiphone Les Paul and little Marshall tube amp to pay bills last year. (It helped that I was ungodly bad, but I never had time to practice.)

I'd take it back up if I could ever afford one of these:

vox ac30
80s rickenbacker 610
80s fender tele (jap)
78 fender musicmaster bass
boss super overdrive
boss reverb/delay
lexicon effects processor
tascam 4-track of some description
shure SM57 & SM58
(a broken) boss blues driver
vox distortion
electro harmonix big muff
(broken) 60s eminar valve amp
roland strings keyboard

erm, i think that's it!

i'd like:

another tele, perhaps one of those hollowbody custom models
a danelectro, pref a 50s/60s one but i'm not fussy
a jazzmaster, but just to look at
heaps of fancy old pedals, esp electro harmonix ones

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 20 July 2003 07:25 (twenty-two years ago)

A computer.

Wishlist:
A faster computer.

Xii (Xii), Sunday, 20 July 2003 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

have:
Fender Strat
Epiphone SG copy
Vox semi-hollow teardrop w/ onboard effects array
Vox 12-string same as above
Vox Tornado
VOx organ
Dean Markley DMC-40 amp
Fender Vibrolux Reverb amp
semi-hollow violin-bass knockoff (maybe Eko)

wish-list:
tons of cheesy effects to replace my old ones that don't work so well anymore, like Big Muff Pi, Roland Space Echo, VOx Super Fuzz.
also, maybe a Vox amp, a Gretch guitar, and a Rickenbacker. It might be nice to have that old pink paisley Tokai Telecaster copy back too. The one they got sued for for making it a bit too precisely like the original........

John Bullabaugh (John Bullabaugh), Sunday, 20 July 2003 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

i have much crap

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 20 July 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Got (and use -- what I don't use has all been lent out):

David King 5- and 8- string electric bass guitars
SWR Super Red Head Bass amplifier
Z. Vex Wooly Mammoth bass distortion
One Spectraflex and one anonymous cord
Bach Stradivarius Model 37ML Bb trumpet
Bach Megatone 3C mouthpiece

What I want (in no particular order, and I can live without most of it):

A decent fretless electric bass guitar (and I'll probably call David again)
A decent acoustic bass guitar (probably custom made, 5-string tuned EADGC)
A really nice beat-up '60s, '70s, or Japanese '80s Fender Precision bass with an added J pick-up (willing to butcher a not-too-collectable instrument myself)
A cool rock and roll looking 4-string (like the Duesenberg Star Bass or the Fret King Europa)
A bigger sounding, almost as portable bass amp to replace the Red Head
A small-but-nice amplifier that I can keep in the States for use there
Some of those horrible wonderful effects from LastGasp Art Laboratories (http://lalweb.com/index-e.html)
Some more decent cords
A supernice Bb Cornet
A piccolo trumpet
Nice mouthpieces for the above
One of them modern super-heavy Monette inspired custom trumpets

Colin Meeder (Mert), Sunday, 20 July 2003 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I've got an Oxygen8 and a fast computer with a pretty big hard drive crammed full of audio warez and enough samples to choke a horse. I am a very immoral person, I admit it.

damian_nz (damian_nz), Sunday, 20 July 2003 22:49 (twenty-two years ago)

BLARRGH GEAR GEEK THREAD DROOL.

I have a lot of crap, but here's what I use most regularly:

- guitar: Fender Jazzmaster (sunburst, not vintage)
- amp: Music Man 212HD-130
- pedals: Memory Man Deluxe, Big Muff Pi (black version), Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion, DOD Stereo Phaser, Crybaby Wah

I want:

- to give all my money to Rickenbacker and Electro-Harmonix and Orange
- some kind of audio-recording multitrack software that works on Mac OS X without a whole lot of hassle and headache
- When I was a kid I wanted someday to have a room in my house reserved only for musical instruments, where I'd have at least one of every kind of (commonly played) instrument. So, yeah, that too.

Nick Mirov (nick), Monday, 21 July 2003 00:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i forgot to add a digital 8-track to my wishlist. or perhaps a laptop with all the requisite recordering softwarez

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 21 July 2003 00:25 (twenty-two years ago)

a Casio Tone Bank from the mid-80s
some kinda mic
a Marshall amp of decent size
two crappier guitars that are broken
a Yamaha 4-track
an acoustic guitar I can't remember the brand name of
and a piano and a crackly organ are at my disposal too, cuz my gear is in my family's basement

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 21 July 2003 00:27 (twenty-two years ago)

oh and my friend's makeshift drum kit is in the basement too, as is our bassist's amp, so I guess I have total access to that too.

*Sears air organ
*Alesis HR-16 drum machine
*Tascam 488 Mk. I analog cassette 8-track

*Various random shit: harmonicas, tambourines, little drums, thumb piano, etc.

Wish list:
*Nice guitar, like a real 335 or the red Hagstrom semi-hollowbody they've got at my local used guitar store.
*Better mics and maybe even some phantom power/preamp thing to make them sound better.
*A house with a basement that I can soundproof so I can buy a drum set and learn how to play better.
*A reverb effect. (This is probably the most realistic on here, and I will buy one soon)
*A sampler, something easy and compact like those Boss Dr. Sample units.
