suggestions for minimal house/tech/idm MIXES ??

Hi -

Can someone offer suggestions of specific continuous mixes of minmal house/tech/idm, etc.. in the vein of andrew weatherall "hypercity", richie hawtin "closer to the edit", etc? I like soft stuff as well as hard stuff, but don't care too much for soulful/jazzy house.

I am into Kompakt stuff as well ... just looking for some good continuous mixes.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

www.dirtyradio.net has five or six mix sets that you'd enjoy. :)

the mix phil sherburne gave to me in barcelona is gorge, but you can't get that so i'd say swayzak's groovetechnology comp on k7 - it's a dubble album and totally solid right the way thru w/ bits of their own stuff and tons tons more besides... i totally second immer, and dan bell's button down mind, too

You should check out Triple R - Friends on Kompakt. It features killer tunes from Luciano, M. Rahn, Broker Dealer, and Oxtongue.

for idm, you can't beat the Blech comp on Warp -- pretty stunning shit. for house, ditto on everything folks have recommended plus:
weatherall's 'hypercity' mix (from the other thread)
and john tejada's 'backstock' mix -- absolutely wicked.

six months pass...
I have been loving the way Taka taka goes from pretty strong techno to nice deep house sounds.

Anymore stuff that straddles this devide?

Other than the stuff above. The other closest are the daniel bell mixes for me.

Leee Majors (Leee), Friday, 13 February 2004 22:09 (twenty-two years ago)

a label a lot of people overlook, but has been doing something similar for years, is the German label Plastic City.

try the mixes by Terry Lee Brown Jr (Terry's Cafe series)
or the Timewriter

They're all excellent, slightly more big room, but Force/Kompakty enough for a minmal/tech fan. I still prefer them to the Kompakt stuff.

Disagree: that stuff only sounds good when it veers too far in either direction - ie. actual Kompakty/Force Tracksy or actual full-blown house (eg. Ian Pooley's Since Then album works really well by pretty much jettisoning the tech), Otherwise so much of it is just pleasant tech-house with no distinguishing features.

The Big Rip Off!, June 3, 2005

(REAL NAME)
Do not order this item or any other items from this seller. I expected a CD by Luciano, the reggae artist. What I received was what looked like a homemade CD with the correct title printed on it. However, what was on it was cheezy generic electronica music. What a rip off!
