Hmmm...

It is damn good, but I'd personally pick "Halcyon + On + On" and "Belfast" by Orbital, or maybe "Blue" by Bark Psychosis. Then again I'm not a DJ...

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 28 July 2003 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I like anything by the Lovin' Spoonful.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 28 July 2003 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry but what's 'amelie on ice' ?

piscesboy, Monday, 28 July 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

it's a remix of the theme to amelie by luciano and is just lovely...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 28 July 2003 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

fck me ! a f-ing love the amelie music.
i bet that's ace.

piscesboy, Monday, 28 July 2003 10:44 (twenty-two years ago)

it's pretty dope - like trancey electro with the kinda steel-drum sound that luciano does so well, totally blissed-out and pretty jaunty, too. matos wrote abt it on his blog, i think...

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 28 July 2003 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

so you found it, then, dave? excellent! that record's a corker, probably the best thing luciano's done yet...

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Monday, 28 July 2003 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

The Paragons "I Wanna Be With You" is classic end-of-the-night.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:02 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah had to order it from germany - cheers for turning me on to that phil - no one has really heard it and those two tracks together proper ripped the place up

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, the "Ignition" remix!

Tom Breihan (Tom Breihan), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

"Getting Away With It" is pretty brilliant, but I would choose "Get The Message" instead.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:25 (twenty-two years ago)

ah right, so the form could very well be shop, cake, beer?! sounds fine!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

oops, wrong thread!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I find "Train In Vain" does a pretty fine job, as does "You Can Get It If You Really Want". But I can imagine GAWI would be cool too.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 28 July 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll have to check that Luciano release. I just picked up La Limonada de Pepe Bombilla which is stellar!

Philippe, Monday, 28 July 2003 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Trooper to thread.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 28 July 2003 17:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Last Song At The Club...
What is the ultimate "one more song" dance song?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 28 July 2003 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Bar Italia?

samuel, Monday, 28 July 2003 22:02 (twenty-two years ago)

that luciano track/rmx is f-ing great! i really like the non-remix track on there, too. woo! did it ever get a proper release?

disco stu (disco stu), Monday, 28 July 2003 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
At 2 am (or at any time, actually) this sounds heavenly. It might be the most winsome thing Barney and Neil have ever sung – which says a lot about this track's genius.

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

- "The Can Can" by Bad Manners
- "He Ain't Heavy He's My Amen Brother" by Autofire

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Annie's Heartbeat, surely.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

"Getting Away With It" isn't really the best of anything.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

'Patience Of A Saint' is great though.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

My new favourite end-of-night tune is Freiwillige Selbstokontrolle - I Wish I Could Sprechen Sie Deutsch vs Freiland - Rot. mp3 coming soon.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to close sets with "Panic" by the Smiths (a self-loathing, tongue in cheek move more than anything else, but the big glam drums actually work in most clubs too) and sometimes "DJ" by David Bowie. I would go with the Bowie if I felt I had a particularly good set that night...

That said, I second the vote for Orbital and I also nominate that mix of Rhythm Is Rhythm's "Strings Of Life" called "Strings Of The Strings Of Life" when the drums take like 6 minutes to arrive. Sublime.

Hutlock (Hutlock), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)
