What's going on with that dog just prior to the intro of "Been Caught Stealin'" by Jane's Addiction on Ritual De Lo Habitual?

What sort of machine is that supposed to be making all those weird noises during the coda of "Welcome To the Machine" by Pink Floyd on Wish You Were Here>

I was listening to new Hamell on Trial tracks - and this fuckin' guy is changing the ballast in the light fixture right behind me - fucking noisy as hell. I mean, shut the fuck up already.. I would rather have it be dark.
