So who was at the sars show yesterday...

I was...and although it was impressive, fun, etc
I was totally embarrassed by the cockrockers who were there for "the fukin stones" booing Justin Timberlake....

first off:
who boos a person who is playing at a benefit concert for your city??

second:
He was a lot better then the Fucking Tea Party, Blue Rodeo, The Guess Who etc

That last part isn't much of a defense for him.

I felt bad for Justin, too. I thought it was pretty cute, he came out as Rock Justin in a trucker's cap instead of Michael Jackson Justin in the jacket.. and then a whole shitload of assholes ruined the fun. Apparently his set got cut short because of the booing/water bottle tossing. Nonetheless, Cry Me A River was excellent and I enjoyed about half of the medley.

I was mostly disappointed with the scare-tactics security -- I didn't get searched or even metal detected, the security guards merely looked at me and my giant knapsack and said "Go on in." Sheesh. I wish I'd brought my camera to take pictures of the mountains of empty water bottles and my friends getting redder and redder.

I think the standout "opening act" was The Flaming Lips - I don't know much of their music but their performance was so much more inspired and fun than the rest of the bands. Fuck you, Rush! I missed Kathleen Edwards and La Chicane while on a hunt for the mythical free water, but that was alright.

And the TTC hype was somewhat bullshit too, after the show my friends and I hopped onto a shuttle to Sheppard, and they didn't make us pay and I was able to get to Finch (where I am) in 20 minutes! I guess the GO commuters probably don't share my view, though.

That was not just a trucker hat, that was a "Girls Gone Wild" cap. Considering the CBC broadcast, he wasn't far off the mark...
