BEST songs on each of a favo[u]rite artist's albums

I thought there should be a nice counterpart to the "Worst songs on each of a favourite artist's albums" thread, especially since thinking about which songs on each of the albums I mentioned I cared for least ended up making me think about which songs I cared about the MOST. And like the thread this one's inspired by, please do name one song per album only, thanks, to actually make this thread an actual challenge.

I'll start off with the same artists/albums I selected for the other thread:

Duran Duran:

debut album -- "Sound of Thunder"
Rio -- "Last Chance on the Stairway"
Seven & the Ragged Tiger -- "The Seventh Stranger"
re-release of debut album -- "Sound of Thunder" (again)
Arena -- "The Seventh Stranger (Live)"
Notorious -- "Hold Me"
Big Thing -- "Do You Believe in Shame?"
Liberty -- "Serious"
The Wedding Album -- "Love Voodoo"
Thank You -- "Watching the Detectives"
Medazzaland -- "So Long Suicide"
Pop Trash -- "Playing With Uranium"

Japan:

Adolescent Sex -- "Suburban Love"
Obscure Alternatives -- "Suburban Berlin"
Quiet Life -- "Halloween"
Gentlemen Take Polaroids -- "Swing"
Tin Drum -- "Still Life in Mobile Homes"
Oil on Canvas -- "Canton (Live)"

It was that album that they only made available via internet download, because they had issues with their lable, or something. Personally, I think it was their best collection of works.

Speedy's Coming
In Trance
Catch Your Train*
We'll Burn the Sky**
Is There Anybody There***
The Zoo
No One Like You****
Big City Nights
Rhythm of Love*****
Restless Nights

* = consider this. Germans singing about people being forced to catch trains. The lyric "He's the boss, you gotta do what he says". Where the fuck is Laibach, under a rock? Cover this now!
** = only because "Sails of Charon" isn't 28 minutes long, and "He's A Woman, She's a Man" is only the SECOND greatest German metal song about this topic [Accept "Love Child" being the first, of course]
*** = those screams in the background toward the very end, or toward 'das ende' if they were on a Nico album
**** = in the final analysis (or at 'das ende' of the day) this album is a bit overrated, the material is just a bit nondescript for them. Cover's interesting, I can see where they were going attempting to make Rudolph an his 'tache a mnemonic like Angus and his pants, but maybe having his eyes being gouged out with forks wasn't the way to go about it)
***** = Yes had a song out with the same title at the same time and the first 28 times I heard this I thought it WAS Yes. Well after "Owner" anything was possible right? Boy am I ever glad I found out the truth before buying that dogshit 'Big Generator' album!

I'm The One
DOA
Romeo Delight
Dirty Movies*
Hang 'em High
House of Pain*

* = Pretty sure that the hive-mind disagrees on these, preferring "Unchained" and "Hot for Teacher" instead. Reasons for differing - the former (to steal a fantastic phrase from the RS review of Stones' 'Some Girls' that's stuck in my head ever since) 'inexplicably loses interest in itself' while the latter starts autistically banging its head against the wall halfway through until the graceless plug-pulling at random endpoint. They really had trouble 'finishing' stuff, didn't they? Appropriate considering their career path!)

(1) = can anybody tell me a song that sounded like this that came out BEFORE it? The only one I can think of is Zep's "Communication Breakdown", but even that one's got the good ol' I-IV-V. Where did this fuckin' 'sound' COME from? The Yardbirds? (ref. Aerosmith 'Round and Round' but that was slow and sludgy!)
(2) = Not the same of course! Well they 'are' but they're really not. The 'Dressed to Kill' versh is like Badfinger or the Raspberries, the 'Alive' versh is like the Stooges or the Germs, and they're both classic!
(3) = I can imagine Gene to this day saying "Of COURSE it's not a joke! It's a TRIBUTE! NOBODY would make a joke about ME! Especially not *him*"
(4) = "I say, uh, wo-ah, buh-ay-bay, uh, ya mek me fell, uh-UH uh UNH-UNH, yeah!" Suicide's 1st came out around now - coincidence? I think not! (The later "Uh! All Night" was a sad attempt to recapture past glories, kinda like 'Why Be Blue' or something)
(5) = I love it when a band whose lyrics have previously consisted of nothing but the crudest, most dunderheaded and one-dimensional sexual innuendoes finally decide to put a SWEAR WORD in a song, and it totally sounds ridiculous, and dig that Grant Green shit at the end. Lesson - trying to play 'jazz guitar' gives you arthritis, and so it should. Grant Green sucks. "What fuckin' difference does it make" indeed. (So much of one that they left their hellish obscene blasphemy off the lyric sheet!)
(6) = Mentioning the title of this song is so embarrassing that bringing myself to actually do it reminded me of the time I was 5 minutes away from the Canada/US border and I finally remembered what was in my 'film canister', which was brilliantly tightly packed in the bottom of a suitcase even more brilliantly locked in the trunk. As we said in primary school, "smooth move, Ex-Lax"
(7) = the 'Bowie' one
(8) = Cuz I heard a really funny Gene story once from a very substantial lady who told me, it's true, anything with a pulse, and he 'loves it LARGE' as well as loud. She also extemporised on some P@uI $t@nL3y r^m^^rs, you know the ones
(9) = please don't make another rec...oh, you did

** = what the fuck is this title supposed to mean. Is that like 'terrorist' or something? That's the only way I can imagine somebody being 'both'
*** = funk
**** = cuz of everyone who said this was the 'most misogynistic song ever' when they came out - but now we know everyone who said that was inadvertently calling gay guys 'women'!!! The oldest stereotype in the world! What prejudice! Heh heh, wonder what they think about it now.

Adolescent Sex -- "The Unconventional"

You know, Patrick, during ILX's absence I listened almost exclusively to Adolescent Sex, and I do have to say that your choice is absolutely beyond amazingly good. But I think if I were to change my mind about my own selection, I think I'd go for the album's OTHER funk 'n soul track, "Performance", which I was totally grooving on last night on my way to visit relatives.

btw, I love you ALL for participating in this! It's been great finding out your selections.

(nb: I am a dork and must explain my REASONS! so everyone will UNDERSTAND. man.)

Calla:
calla: only drowning men
(the beat, the beat, clacking steady underneath, this slow gentle buildup of sound and you could swear there was no voice to any of it, and the 'suzanne' loop at the end crackling away into irregular pauses and silence.)
scavengers: fear of fireflies
(slinking bassline, dark evening-cicada hum, major thirds in the guitar and the scrape of strings.)
televise: monument
(it's not their best album by any means, but that dull thud of programmed beat and bass and then sharp-edged guitar crashing over the top.)

Ride:
smile: drive blind
(the shine in the guitar as it starts.)
nowhere: vapour trail
(it sounds like its name; those artless vocals, still surprisingly charming, and the simplicity of the strings at the end.)
going blank again: twisterella
(it's just so. indie.)
carnival of light: crown of creation
(nigh impossible, this: I've loved this album too long and too hard. But 'crown of creation' is the cutest song ever, and I played it to death when I first got the record.)
tarantula: ride the wind
(the rest of the album suxx0rz. This at least has a sweet chorus, even if the vocals are egregiously out of tune. And I've a soft spot for the hammond.)
