_Mechanical Animals_ is and always will be my Marilyn Manson album. That was the first one where I felt like the music and persona meshed instead of clashing. Beyond that, I do like a lot of his singles (some retroactively; I hated "The Beautiful People" for the longest time until one day it just MADE SENSE).
(Describing the album tracks on _MA_ as "boring metal sludge-fests" makes me assume you haven't actually listened to them.)

IMO, one of the not so obvious reasons for his success in his earlier career was the depth of the imagery, which appealed to fans looking for something to escape into. (just like tolkien and star trek fans) He borrowed from alot of rich sources in the beginning (weird kids movies on portrait, biblical and "gothic" images on antichrist, glam futurism on mechanical animals) and i think the reason im not so into his recent stuff is because he has run out of sets of imagery to steal. mech. animals has some goddamn great songs.

They did the same thing at Lollapalooza and knocked a girl out while DEVO was playing. Cause Bone Warriors are heavy. When thrown.

But was it that friend necessarily or ultimately Alice Cooper? Though I agree Alice was never quite so confrontational on certain points as was RW.

After Marilyn Manson’s longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez (born Jeordie White) was accused of rape, the band has decided to let him go. Tonight, Manson tweeted a statement announcing his decision to part ways with White. “He will be replaced for the upcoming tour,” he wrote. “I wish him well.” See the tweet below. On October 21, Jessicka Addams of Jack Off Jill accused White of a violent rape during their romantic relationship in the ‘90s—read her full post on Facebook. At the time, Manson released a statement regarding the accusations, saying that he “knew nothing about these allegations until very recently” and that he was “saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.”

Sometimes I post on ILM. I haven't been here in a while, so, many of you probably won't remember me.
Not sure if this is the correct thread to post this, but the search function didn’t return any other threads.(And please note that my post contains an attempt to post some web links/hyperlinks, and that feature on ILM doesn’t always work for my fairly old laptop, so I’m not sure if the links will post, but I hope they do.)
With the recent news of Manson’s stage injury & the rape allegations against Twiggy Ramirez, an additional recent important news story related to Marilyn Manson seems to have been overlooked at ILM, because it’s not on this thread (and I can’t find another ILM thread for it): The sad news that on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, Scott Mitchell Putesky (AKA Daisy Berkowitz) died of cancer at age 49. RIP.
Since I didn’t see any mention of this on this thread, I didn’t know if there is some other thread I should be posting this on at ILM. (If so, please let me know.)
For those who are interested, here’s a news article about this: http://www.metalinjection.net/this-is-just-a-tribute/original-marilyn-manson-guitarist-scott-daisy-berkowitz-putesky-dead-at-49. There are quite a few such articles in many of the online publications (Rolling Stone, Washington Post, etc. Though, I think the Washington Post article might be behind a paywall.)
Here are some additional online articles, for those who are interested:

Sadly, this is real news, not fake news.
YouTube also has some tribute/memorial videos.
Maybe no one at ILM cares about this piece of news, and that’s why this is not mentioned on this thread. If so, that’s unfortunate, to say the least.
