shaq f twista - do it faster

trife (simon_tr), Friday, 12 September 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude I know we disagree a lot but seriously twista is the fucking BOMB.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Twista is the FUCKIN man. I've nevere heard anyone do what he does and still be understandable. "The New Shit" by Pharoahe Monch & Busta Rhymes comes to mind. That one is not so fast but they do some wild shit in that one. "Power To The People" and "Move" are P.E. songs with fast beats.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Sunday, 14 September 2003 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

it would be cool if someone could compile some early 90s brit fast rap, some of it was pretty good. demon boyz and the like

Chip Morningstar (bob), Sunday, 14 September 2003 20:14 (twenty-two years ago)

is 'is that your bitch' not fast raps on a slow beat? it's the tension

Chip Morningstar (bob), Sunday, 14 September 2003 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo, Nate, don't forget the second half of 'Sounds Of Science'.

I'm sticking 'A Year And A Day' on a house/electro/disco mix sometime in the distant future.

Barima (Barima), Sunday, 14 September 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Jay Kid (Jay K), Monday, 15 September 2003 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Does anyone here actually LIKE Blackalicious?

I hella do, but I have the worst taste in music ever, so what does that tell you? ;-)

As for this thread...Cee-Lo "Big Words".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 15 September 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, for that matter, Cee-Lo's verse on Dungeon Family's "Follow the Lights" is super quick and ridiculously on point with each syllable.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 15 September 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

not necessarily fast rapping, but fast beats

Nick, that Cee Lo is totally a slow (but awesomely syncopated) beat with fast rapping over it.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 15 September 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I know. He's really good at that. I didn't realize we were going more for fast-tempo numbers, for I am skimmer. If that's the case then lemme suggest that song Method Man did with Prodigy, as soon as I remember the name.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 15 September 2003 17:09 (twenty-two years ago)

the d.o.c. = portrait of a masterpiece

The whole bloody album almost fits that bill till they slow it down for the rest of NWA.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 15 September 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

search for fuck's sake!: both "Kalakuta Show" ft. Lateef the Truth Speaker and Gift of Gab (most especially if you're one of thems who wonder why people consider Gab to be a good MC...if this track don't answer that question for ya, I don't know what to tell ya!) and "Shuffering & Shmiling" ft. Dead Prez, Talib Kweli, Jorge Ben, and Bilal from the Fela Kuti tribute CD Red Hot & Riot...fast and funkier than fuck

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 17 September 2003 18:20 (twenty-two years ago)
