I want to mix None Shall Escape The Judgement by Johnny Clarke into a mix but can't find anything appropriate

Honestly, if I could do this, it would be the king of mixes. It's the most euphoric, danceable Reggae tune in my opinion and would go down wicked as the night kicked off. Something about those disco hi-hats - but i want something more modern and less obvious. A disco or funk track would be an obvious choice, granted but I'm not so hot on my disco and I only own one proper funk album. Any ideas?

And if you haven't heard it, I suggest you do. It's on the Trojan Tighten Up best of...

It's got the 'flying cymbal' rhythm thing going so you'd really want to continue that into the next track. What about about trying Blondie's 'Atomic'? Most funk tracks would have more syncopation and would break up the flow - I'll try and think of a disco track that would sequence well. Stay tuned.

actually, i was thinking atomic could work quite well as it happens, but I don't think it would impress my brand of friends... maybe - i'll give it a go! Thanks for replying Dr C, and I will stay tuned!

the only problem I can also see happening with mixing this track is that the clean drum intro is slightly out of time. I use Acid Pro instead of decks to make my mixes and I found that it was nigh-on impossible to beatmatch this track to anything. I could probably do something to make it fit into time though.

Hey Dog - it has to be "Egyptian Reggae" by Jonathan Richman, after all he stole the tune from JC.
