i think dave's martial arts skills are spot-on and not to blame. the profuse bleeding was obviously the result of a massive brain hemmorrhage resulting from the sudden realization that he might at that horrendously self-parodying, pathetic moment actually be back in van halen had he not acted like such a horse's ass at the vma's way back when.
