As the subject line above suggests, DJ Edelweiss will be spinning records at Galapagos "Art Space," 70 North St between Kent and Wythe, in Williamsburg, this Saturday night deep into Sunday morning.
There's a pretty good chance that he'll play pretty good records by people like Jorge Ben, Bloodstar, Boney M, Milton Brown and his Brownies, the Bunnybrains, Chain Gang, Change, Cinderella, the Clientele, Coati Mundi, Death Comet Crew, Dinosaur L, Earons, EPMD, Flash and the Pan, Frigid Pink, Robin Gibb, Hot Chocolate, Cheb Khaled, Little Axe, KT Oslin, Johnny Paycheck, Phuture, Prism, Schoolly D, Sequence, Sheila B and Devotion, Skatt Bros, Slade, Billy Thorpe, the Tornadoes, Trickeration, and ZZ Top. Unless he changes his mind between now and then, in which case he'll play other stuff.
Last time he played records there, the place was packed, but hardly anybody was paying attention, so nobody noticed when he messed up. The only requests in the first few hours were for something off the current Justin Timberlake album (which DJ Edelweiss sadly no longer owns on vinyl, since he assumed the Nick Carter album was a lot better when both records came out) and "could you use your microphone say Happy Birthday to my friend Tiffany?" Since DJ Edelweiss did not have a microphone, and nor did he want one, he simply told the requester that she could *tell* Tiffany he said Happy Birthday. He also played a Tiffany song, part of of a Beatles cover medley also featuring Cristina and the Flying Lizards. Even more curious events could perhaps happen if you happen to show up.
