What genre are Fragma/Divine Inspiration etc?

So, I was buying a sandwhich. And they were playing what I've now looked up as 'The Way' by 'Divine Inspiration', which goes like this: "Put your hand in my hand" (Instrument that I can't identify - synth? - rises up in the mix)... "Let me (rises) show (RISES) yoooouuu (!!) THE WAYYYYYY". It was pretty good.

And but so, what is this stuff called? House? I heard Peel play something pretty similar once and declare "If Elvis were alive today he would really understand Happy Hardcore", but this was before 'Every Time You Need Me' blew away muh indie cobwebs, so I have no idea if that really was the same thing.

[Not posting a request for similar tracks because there's probably already a POX for said genre - if not, shoot away].

Trance. You might also see this vocal stuff with the big dramatic (some would say cheesy) buildups referred to as "Euro-trance" or "euphoric trance" to distinguish it from harder or more minimal kinds of trance.

Rah! Thank you very much. I <3 ILX.

Trance, or sometimes more specifically called Clubtrance or Eurotrance (to distinguish this cheesy type from other trance varieties). Probably the least "respectable" form of dance music since happy hardcore.

Driftwood - Freeloader
Barthezz - Infected & On The Move
Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky (Wippenberg Remix)
Svenson & Gielen - Beechbreeze
I-Ching - The Forgotten Dream (Orion Groove Project Mix) (=VERY much like that Fragma tune)
Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound Of Goodbye (=VERY much like The Way)
Riva ft Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now
56K ft Bejay - Save A Prayer

Against all my instincts, though, I would have to concede that I do rather like "The Way"...
