While it may surprise some, considering my hate for a certain other funk act whose family name starts with B and ends with N :-) I am actually checking those two bands out and enjoying a lot of the stuff. Not familiar enough with them to create a POX list yet, but I am pretty sure that the mighty "Flashlight" and "One Nation Under a Groove" will be in it.

Btw. what P-funk tune is "Who Am I (What's My Name)" by Snoop Doggy Dogg based on?

The Motherpage has three different songs attached to "What's My Name" and they are "Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)," "Atomic Dog," and "(not just) Knee Deep." But the important one is "Atomic Dog."

"(Not Just) Knee Deep" sounds more like the model for De La Soul's "My Myself And I". Oh well, guess Dr. Dre actually invented the bass on "What's My Name" himself then :-)
