Unusual S0ulseek issue (sorry)

i've read the faq and had a click about on google with no result.
my problem is thus:
soulseek is installed correctly and i can connect with no problem. but when i click on search my pc shuts down instantly (ie, returns directly to the bootup screen) after about 30 matches appear. has anybody else experienced this? i remember hearing rumours of computers being remotely shut down by some kind of magical government interwebnet virus if they attempted to download mp3s. is this what's happening, or is it just my computer being a huge toss? this literally only happens when i search for files through soulseek, and it happens everytime even though it's been working perfectly for many moons....

There's a place for this kind of stuff. ILM isn't it.

I don't know, I'm not offended that the question is on ILM. The link to the messageboard was the proper response...

ILM is the place for whatever its users want it to be, for better or worse.

A huge percentage of ILMers are Soulseek junkies so who better to ask exactly? Haven't looked at the SLSK forums but they might not be so (generally) welcoming as ILM.

I mean, if the guy had a problem with powerpoint or something, then yeah, this might not be the place, but slsk questions seem pretty relevant around here.
