oh yeah, that reminds me of someone i'd forgotten about. eu, they're russian, the name means 'christmas baubles' i think, and they make one version of the kind of sound i'm thinking of. thanks everyone so far. keep 'em coming! (ps obv i realise most of the stuff that comes to mind for this question is post-rocky/IDM stuff, but any more pop stuff would be great too!)
