Is this just a hybrid of P.I.M.P. and Grindin'?

Not too good for a mixtape blazing comeback.

scottjames23 (worrysome-man), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

do you mean "follow-up"? they're not exactly "coming back" from anywhere. also, didn't know about this song, thanks for the info

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 30 September 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

so whaddya think of it?

scottjames23 (worrysome-man), Thursday, 2 October 2003 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

haven't heard it yet! can't really get a p2p at work (firewalls) and no net access at home yet. :-(

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 2 October 2003 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
I saw a clean version of the Barbershop 2 sdtk today and the title of the Clipse track was changed to "Wussy". If they re-recorded the vocals for that version I really wanna hear it.

Al (sitcom), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I really like it. Too bad Hell Hath No Fury is such a dud.

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 04:03 (twenty-two years ago)

how have you heard hell hath no fury?

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 04:37 (twenty-two years ago)

It leaked a little while ago. I guess it might not be the final copy and the tracks are unnamed. Check slsk.

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not THAT bad. it's just more of the same, really. no more or less inspired than any of their guest spots.

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 05:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i think people thought it leaked and were downloading the pre-lord willin clipse album that was getting named hell hath no fury after the album title was given. the real one has r. kelly on it and shit. unless it's leaked for real in the past few days-- and there hasn't been any buzz on any messageboards or anything.

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

!!!

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 05:16 (twenty-two years ago)

was the album released? do you have a tracklisting??

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 05:17 (twenty-two years ago)

no! i was saying a pre-lord willin album had been mislabeled as hell hath no fury when the name for the upcoming album was given. so, people were downloading a full clipse album they hadn't heard before and it was labeled as being the new one and they were disappointed because it sucked.

hell hath no fury has not been released and there is no tracklisting and there is no leak! they just mentioned r. kelly and the other guests in various articles.

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 05:31 (twenty-two years ago)

i was hoping someone else noticed that. 'got caught dealin' is one of the tracks on the 128kbit leak floating around, that shoulda been a dead giveaway. ;)

adam west (adamwest), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 06:04 (twenty-two years ago)

no! i was saying a pre-lord willin album had been mislabeled as hell hath no fury

yes!! that's what i meant!! had the pre-"lord willin" album been released? because almost all sources list "lord willin" as the first album. what was it called? what was the tracklisting?? i guess i want to see if i have a copy of that album.

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 06:29 (twenty-two years ago)

is the pre-lord-willin album the one with "the funeral" on it? that song was pretty hot

dave k, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 06:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't think it got officially released, vahid. but i've seen it for sale on lots of websites and stores that sell mixtapes.

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

The Clipse - Lost Tracks

the titles are usually all mixed up, 'been caught dealing' is titled 'multiply' on that one.

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

The Clipse - Lost Tracks--- that one has the realaudio samples titled with the song names that people put on the "leaked" hell hath no fury, breakfast in cairo, etc.

William Wiggins, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

OH SHIT. dk is right - my copy seems to be old tracks! well, it's nice to know that the nails aren't quite pounded into the clipse coffin yet.

vahid (vahid), Thursday, 18 March 2004 06:49 (twenty-two years ago)

not a bad beat, the stuttered-beat-followed-by-silence trick covers pretty well for lack of any break or variation. the constant clanging answered by the echoed woodblock is great, like the crummy keyboard they used for "grindin'" had it's arena sfx presets busted and all they had left was the phony reggae presets and tried to make do.

malice mixes metaphors very well ("this is not pinchin pennies/this is carrot cake") and pusha t comes with exaggeratedly correct grammar ("he who questions I is unfocused") that is actually more clever than it appears.

i'm sure this is better because it succeeds p.i.m.p. and grindin'? or perhaps not?

rgeary (rgeary), Thursday, 18 March 2004 07:53 (twenty-two years ago)

meaning it sounds better because clipse knows that we hear it as grindin' 2.0, and would a teensy bit of steel drum or facsimile thereof in a our sparse stompalongs as well thnx to fifty.

rgeary (rgeary), Thursday, 18 March 2004 07:55 (twenty-two years ago)

^would LIKE a teensy bit

crikey

rgeary (rgeary), Thursday, 18 March 2004 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I like that rob - I really do think Clipse are some of the funniest rappers around precisely because their jokes are always better than they seem at first.

Looking forward to hearing this, and pleased to discover that all the hatin' on the new album was perhaps mistaken!

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 18 March 2004 07:59 (twenty-two years ago)

malice also uses "jealous" twice in one verse but the second time he shears it down to "jeal" to rhyme with "well," and it works! kinda.

rgeary (rgeary), Thursday, 18 March 2004 08:07 (twenty-two years ago)

the new clipse album is gonna be hot, like that straight off da block shit. i heard a couple of the new songs from the album and they straight up fresh. Neptunes have always been geneous's at making hot beats, but they have outdone themselves this time. u guys should download dis one song called "eghck". Hot ass beat, and some new neptunes sound for all yall neptunes Fans. Peace oh yeah, to all da clipse and neptunes haters fuck you all, you guys dont know shit. "Seem like they all got a comment to make
In regards to my paper, now they guessin' my weight
They fast to predict the outcome of my fate
Wonderin' 'bout Clipse and if they got what it take
Malice, he think he hard, tough guy of the clique
And Pusha, he walk around like he swear he the shit
You right on both counts, bitch, Clipse is us
And there are some things that you don't discuss
Don't ask me 'bout the Neptunes and what's they fair
Don't ask about the loud screamin' chick with the hair
Don't ask about my music, and how that's comin' 'bout
Don't ask about my album, or when's it comin' out
'Cause I feel like you really being funny on the slide
Now face down, layin' on your tummy, or you die
I tried being humble, humble get no respect
Now the first sign of trouble, that's a hole up in your neck
Plus, what I look like spendin' my nights in jail
I could never be a thug, they don't dress this well
I reside in VA, ride in VA
Most likely when I die, I'm gon' die in VA
Virginia's for lovers, but trust there's hate here
For out-of-towners, who think that they gon' move weight here
Ironic, the same same place I'm makin' figures at
That there's the same land they used to hang niggas at, in Virginia..."
