Tom Ze

Of all the Tropicalia-ists, I really dislike him. His whole noise bit may have been interesting way back when, but now perhaps he's more relevant for those who have a better connection with history. Or maybe I just don't get why it is that he's considered so brilliant.

I'm a huge fan. If you can catch him live, then so much the better, but meanwhile, love him for his tickly guitars, subtle rhythms, his refusal to sound like the rest of smoooooooth MPB (Brazilian pop) and and his utter charm. His wordplay is also very clever and funny.
