Do music journalists respect artists who treat them like shit more than artists who kiss their asses?

Who has best gotten headline mileage out of bad-mouthing "the media", refusing to do interviews, beating up Nick Kent, etc.?

What are the best artist-journalist feuds? (remember Axl vs. Guccione and the "Get in the Ring" single?)

free CD's, free concerts, free freebies :), bribes, travelling with famous people and living in VIP mode... doesn't dound so masochistic to me! journalists have POWER to shape the pop scene, and they use it without mercy. media is often more important than music!
