Taking Sides: Gwar vs Captured! by Robots!

On one side you have a cadre of lovecraftian demigods...
on the other you have a collective of heartless machines...

I'd have to say GWAR just for the weight of numbers.
GWAR even has 3x as many slaves on stage at any given moment.

When I saw Captured! by Robots! (as opposed to when I saw Gwar), I left the venue NOT covered in fake shit, blood, semen, and other-substances-undefined, so for now I'm siding with the cyber-slave.

it's an honour to die for gwar

Captured! by Robots! does not offer an "Unconditional GWARantee!" to pay you back (of is that "inflict payback") if you are not completely dismembered.

Ah, but perhaps you've never seen the Revenge of the Cybermen episodes on Dr. Who. In
rock, paper, scissors, metal crushes flesh every time.

Hahahahaha!
Where's Rick Dees and his rendition of "Disco Dalek" when you need it!?

fifteen years pass...

Saw Captured tonight.
I was there for my friend's band.

They're grind now.

They have nothing going for them other than the gimmick and even that ain't amazing

Without question the most unlikely band pairing Ive ever seen was when I saw Riley Kiley open for Captured! By Robots in like 2002. I’m sort of heartened at the fact that that dude is still grinding out his dumb robot show 15+ years later.

This is the second time Captured! By Robots has come up for me in the last month - is it time for a critical reassessment

he also has his teddy bear thing too ... a year ago, I saw a friend and former ILX-er open for C!BR -- it was a fun show.

also he lives in El Cerrito, which I think is charming and hilarious --- a friend of mine who lives down the street from him told me this -- I think he might have complained about something on Nextdoor or maybe it was just an irl neighbor thing.

clearly we need a CCR vs. Captured! By Robots thread to compare these pre-eminent El Cerrito bands

Whatever happened to Compressorhead? They finally built a vocalist a year or two ago, and I figured they'd have taken over the world by now.
