Shakes the Clown: Mechanized misadventure for MTV.It was not known how Ozzy 'Shakes' Osbournes' accident would
affect production of the third season of his popular MTV series.
Whether the accident and hospital stay might be included in the series has yet to be determined an MTV spokeswoman said.
"The possibility of video of Ozzy in an oxygen tent, blood being siphoned from his lungs by intubation could be just the action
our viewers crave," she added. "As you know, Ozzy often has
difficulty making himself understood, a source of great entertainment
to our youthful audience and the media. And additional hoses in
his throat could only help in this matter."
Osbourne would also have to take a variety of medications, including
pain pills, during his recovery. Heavy consumption of uppers, downers, painkillers, anti-convulsants and anti-psychotic medications
during the second year of his show -- the rocker's present condition
will certainly lead him down this route again.
The MTV spokeswoman said that Ozzy's infirmities and addictions
were a boon to network ratings. "Now, if only we can just get Ozzy
on crutches or in a wheelchair, trembling and slurring just short of falling over dead, that would be great for ratings and advertising," she said.
