Moral of the story, fast rap is the truth. again. What else of his is essential? and who's faster than chi-town's finest?

I think he's actually got the record in the Guiness book of World Records.
This song is amazing....the way that Kanye synchs the sped-up vocal sample and a fast drum fill -- then Twista can actually rap in that very same pattern - it's mind-blowing....My local rap station isn't playing it that much, though, I've only heard it a couple of times, I hope it blows up for those guys.

he's good on a track on Trick Daddy's Book of Thugs, Chapter AK, Verse 47.
Lil Kim's "Thug Luv" is pretty great.
the aforementioned Freeway collabo, "Show Go On", is fire.
there's a nice "Poppin' Tags" remix w/ Ludacris.
another Kanye-produced track on his album is "Budonkadonk".

Ned, I have to tell you, sometimes you revive threads with news stories like this and I have absolutely no idea what you found noteworthy or amusing about it, or what kind of reaction you're looking for by posting it.

Took you that long to figure it out?

what

:-D
Actually aren't most of us of a certain ILX generation all copied on these allhiphop.com announcements? I know Dan gets 'em too; I think they copied down addresses from the whole board when they used to be public.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 19:20 (sixteen years ago)
OK, that's interesting I guess. I still don't understand why you posted it, though? Do you feel some kind of obligation to AHH to occasionally justify their spam?

Nah. Often I'm just bemused.
― Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 19:25 (sixteen years ago)
OK... So what amused you about that story? I still don't understand.

"lol a moderately popular rapper wants to do cheap family-friendly concerts geared towards children"? are we supposed to be rolling in the aisles at that?

There was a time in the late 90s when I would buy full CDs just for a Twista guest spot. I haven't paid attention much since Kamikaze, heard good things about the Perfect Storm tho.
I rinsed Mobstability thoroughly for about 3 years after it dropped and kind of forgot about it. Just gave it a listen and it still holds up really well. Crook County is the obv standout, but there are some nice party cuts and r&b-ish burners to balance out the Bone-hating-gangsterisms. Twista killed everything he touched on this, I think he works well in a group. His style strikes a good balance with the slower flow of the other two guys, every song builds up to the Twista verse (I swear he drops the last verse on almost every track). Never understood what he was really saying... never really cared tbh.

Traxster kills the production on the whole lp, lots of variation from track to track.
