the APRA/AMCOS Code of Practice here in Australia requires it to go on the front of the CD, on the slick itself for local releases. What are the consequences of putting it on the back cover of the CD? What's the situation in your country?

Strong Impact? We have no such label here in the USA.

Wow - three levels of impact! Last time I checked, here in the US we have a one-size-fits-all "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" sticker that gets slapped on certain CDs that are sold in certain stores, though I've never quite understand what the rules are that govern its use.

They make hearing a curse word in a pop song seem like an automobile accident.

The young'ns can't handle that sort of impact - their bones are still soft, you know?

I like having those labels on my CDs. Makes me feel dangerous.

There's one on the Australian release of the Killing Joke album. I think Peaches has one too.

In Australia they can refuse to sell a record to you if you're under eighteen??!! Holy fucking shit!!!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

In NZ too, theoretically - the last Eminem album was restricted to those over 18 only!!

Bill E (bill_e), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

>the last Eminem album was restricted to those over 18 only!!

They should have an IQ test for Eminem purchases - if you score above 80, they don't sell you the disc.

Phil Freeman (Phil Freeman), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

That's okay, we could just send Phil down to the store to pick up the latest Em disc for us.

(just kidding - I know Phil is a smart guy)
