My name is Kenny (My name is Kenny), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:48 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought it was funnier last year (or was it the year before?) whatever year it was that they reviewed 'mc skat kat's greatest hits' or whatever

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 06:52 (twenty-two years ago)

the danny wood, ray stevens, and solo album set are great.

also the 2pac one.

i think they were dead wrong to go all nasty on the a*teens last year, and actually the line-change they ref is sorta brilliant deadpan when you think about it.

From The Thorns' appealing new acoustic bonus session to the sumptuous cavalcade of extras on The Flaming Lips' expanded edition of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, it's nice to get extra material when the album itself warrants it. But in an era when the music industry is looking to reward fans loyal enough to pay for music they might otherwise get for free, expecting them to buy the same records twice within a year or two isn't exactly providing an incentive. As for Chumbawamba's Readymades And Then Some, it's actually a pretty good album—the bonus DVD's Flaming Lips remix of "Tubthumping" is especially worthy -

this feels like it was written by a character out of an onion story proper, really

"Phunk Shui"?

LMAO.

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

the absolute funniest thing about this feature is being given the option to buy these albums in blue hypertext.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't notice that before! That's brilliant.

Vinnie (vprabhu), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't know Chuck Barris wrote "Pallisades Park"! The Gong Show was one of the funniest things ever on TV, who cares if his album sucks. AND he was a CIA hitman. Or not. Genius!

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 11 December 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

has Chuck Eddy read this yet? He's gonna get peeved about the Stabbing Westward dis!

I think that was two years ago, Geeta. I actually saw the WORLD PREMIERE of the MC Skat Cat video on MTV way back when!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 11 December 2003 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 11 December 2003 01:01 (twenty-two years ago)

haha I remember being astounded that they brought him back a couple years after the "Opposite Attracts" video. I guess he was pulling a Kevin Shields or something.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 11 December 2003 01:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Perhaps he's still been working on his sophomore release all this time.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 11 December 2003 01:02 (twenty-two years ago)

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 11 December 2003 01:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I think you were the one person who did.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 11 December 2003 03:55 (twenty-two years ago)

adam (adam), Thursday, 11 December 2003 07:15 (twenty-two years ago)

His next album's DOPE

Haikunym (Haikunym), Thursday, 11 December 2003 07:19 (twenty-two years ago)

or, even better, a collaboration with Dope.

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 11 December 2003 09:19 (twenty-two years ago)

well it didn't change my life, but the marr album was pleasant enough, and "Down On The Corner" was quite nice.

I did encourage a record label to sign Russell Crowe, though, MWAHAHAHAHAHA.
