Anyone heard his new album? Apparently it's a return to form...when he's good he's good, bad, very bad. Opinions?

I hear he yells "Word up, Jimi Hendrix!" before playing a guitar solo on one of the tracks. Which I think is awesome.

I heard "Fugee-La" today on a mixtape I made in 1997, and it took me back. That said, he was always my least favorite Fugee.

It'd be better if he yelled "Word up, Yngwie Malmsteen"! Now THAT would be awesome.

I've only heard the occasional solo single but I'd definitely check out any of his albums for free. I like his bizarre interpolative style and baffling turns of phrases. I really wish I could get a hold of that bonkers but oddly addictive song he and Bono ("STRAIGHT OUTTA DUBBLIIIIN!!!") recorded together for NetAid.

Oh man, what was that called? That was a new frontier in dreadful.

Anthony, The Carnival really is worth your time checking out. Got lost in all the Lauryn Hill love at the time, I think.

David A. (Davant), Wednesday, 10 December 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah I figured I'd start with The Carnival.

I'm glad somebody else remembered it Alex. They kind of forgot those charity songs are supposed to be easy to sing along with. They also forgot that charity events should be easy to comprehend. Did ANYONE get what NetAid was about?

I didn't. Still don't.

I remember something of the chorus. Ma-Ma-Ma-Ma, you gotta make it wit da Fathuh Figyah...or some shit. Made my skin crawl.

Why is he so popular in Europe?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 11 December 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Search me Spencer. Because some of his singles are great?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 11 December 2003 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Europe responds to greatness, Spencer.
