Why am I getting bored with Music/Bands?

Hate to say it, but Julio's completely right here. It's quite understandable to get sick to death of the whole band-fandom scheme. As Julio alludes (I believe, I don't want to presume), there's a whole world of music out there that has nothing to do with the youth-oriented, gang-mentality culture of bands. Music which doesn't need to have its merits extolled on a t-shirt.

Or improvisers. Start digging into Derek Bailey's output and you may never encounter the same configuration of musicians twice.

Interesting. In the late 90's/early 00's, I got really into producers for a while. Hip hop production mostly - Timbaland, Dre, Mannie Fresh, Jay Dee, Madlib - but also stuff like Mouse On Mars and a lot of stuff John McEntire did. I never really realized until now that it was brought about by my boredom with the whole "band" thing. You ILM guys are smart. You should all be wearing labcoats.

Tico is right though - I have found myslef piling up perfectly good albums that I have only had time to listen to once or twice and forget about them. This can be quite offputting really.
