tomorrow, 12/13, dan selzer and i are playing records as part of a show at krezo, a small but remarkably well set-up little gallery/cafe/front for secret gigs. line-up as follows: the cunts (tammy wynette meets blowfly), growing (some new shit from kranky), young people (good people).
both of us will be deviating from what we normally do, at the direction of those involved who have demanded that we soundtrack winter despair. so, lots of things that are fuzzy, spacey, droney, and weepy like this 9 minute german version of "season of the witch" that i'm quite fond of. come visit us.
address:
318 grand street between havermeyer and the bqe, wmsburg, brooklyn, ny

I have a whole set of sad 60s baroque orchestral pop songs about merry-go-rounds. OK, 2 or 3.

I would really like to know how I can download a 9 minutes German version of Season of the Witch!!

Sonny A. (Keiko), Friday, 12 December 2003 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd recommend DSL or a cable modem at least...

bad jode (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 12 December 2003 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a minute longer than Vanilla Fudge's cover!

bad jode (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 12 December 2003 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

it's on a double-lp that i got in munich earlier this year. i'll get the catalog info when i'm home. i should clarify a bit... the actually performers might not be german but it's a product of one of universal's german divisions. in any case, it's long and super slow and very self-consciously trippy-witchy.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 12 December 2003 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan, what others besides "Horse On A Stick"?

spotterbastard, Saturday, 13 December 2003 06:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 13 December 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta (geeta), Saturday, 13 December 2003 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

what time, silly billies?

i doubt i'll go if there's a cover, but if someone wants to make me not have to pay, i'm totally there.

my beloved "season of the witch" comes from psychedelic jazz - 16 smoking tunes, a fine album with liner notes that begin as follows: "a mind can be well expanded before it blows."

funny that this would be the thread that you'd revive, and that I'm only noticing it because I was just googling myself. A bit out of the way but...
