20 points for a correct answer (if both songs chart outside the top 75, this is void)

ULTRABEAT - Feeling Fine = 10

BASIL BRUSH - Boom! Boom! = 46 (okay, why?)
BLUE ft. STEVIE WONDER & ANGIE STONE - Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours = 5 (would rather hear the 9 minute version of 'Superstitious' that Stevie apparently performed on Sesame Street back in the 70s please)

>It's the last week cos I said when it started that it would end with the Christmas chart. Also - nothing out next week.<

Isn't the week between Christmas and new year now the traditional time for washed up has beens to release their new single in a desperate attempt to get to number 1 in the quietest week of the year ala "Bring your daughter to the slaughter" ? Oh, and Victoria Beckham's single is out that week.

Fishman, Monday, 15 December 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

What meant was: The next singles release week starts on the 29th. Next week (week starting 22nd) there is nothing released.

RANDOM NUMBER: #33 - Fatman Scoop

MEW to chart highest, although just barely. There was nothing memorable about this when it was released last year but it seems to have gained a semi-decent twinkly whooshness now. Sort of like a polystyrene snowflake. Mmmm.

Why am I so certain that Atomic Kitten will undeservedly narrowly outstrip the Sugababes? Why are the Sugababes not dead cert for number 1 dammit? How fantastically distracted and excellent does Mutya look in the Sugababes video? How jaw-droppingly unappealing a nitespot is "Club Kitten" in the AK video? Am I massively underestimating the number of people who are likely to go out and buy a single by Avid Merrion? Basil Brush, really? TENSION MOUNTS ARGH ARGH

Pop Idol at #5 in the midweeks! COME ON GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC - or rather DONT COME ON GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

STOP WRECKING THE SUSPENSE!

Cos it is suspenseful this week, v. much so.

I don't give a stuff for any of the records, and if the chart goes how I think it might then it's not going to be that fantastic anyway.

But still.

CHART BATTLE!!!!

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 16 December 2003 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

The Darkness now favourites apparently
