I could add a hundred more dance mixes, but instead...
Shania Twain - That don't impress me much (euro mix)They remixed it for the european market with great result, this is the far superior version.
Lumidee, Busta Rhymes & Fabolous - Never leave you (remix)Obviously
Cornershop - Brimful of asha (norman cook mix)Dull song turned into great indiepop

The Weatherall remix of Soon is better than the original? I love Weatherall like a father and a son, but that would be his worst remix ever.

hook me up. That song is so drowned out I find it hard to separate the bits and rearrange it even with a ginsu knife. I also don't like cupcakes that are cooked with lightbulbs.

There's a strong sense of space and pacing in the original that really appeals to me; the remix sounds too rushed and busy in comparison. Keep in mind I heard the remix first and loved it, THEN discovered the original and was all "WOAH THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER". Then _Haunted Science_ came out and I wanted to stab him in the neck for sucking so bad, but that's another story.

Boards of Canda has some noteworthy ones:
Slag Boom Van Loom - Poppy Seed (Boards Of Canada Remix)Slag Boom Van Loom - Poppy Seed (Reprise) (Boards Of Canada Remix)
These seem to be more like outright covers, but are credited as remixes. The melodies are SLBV's but feel so naturally Boards. Really amazing tracks, and I particularly love the reprise. It's so sunny
cLOUDDEAD - Dead Dogs Two (Boards Of Canada Remix)
So incredible. There's an incredible breakdown that lasts like eight bars that kills me every damn time, and the "A Day In the Life" ending is just the cherry on top of this red tendon sundae.

Also their mix of Beck's Broken Drum. Just listened to the original for the first time and it's not half bad but I prefer the remix, it's richer and smoother, like drinking a caramel milkshake while weeping salt tears into the open cup.
