All music has a little on him....bambatataa's cousin, relocates to Atlanta becomes an early rap icon of sorts in the area. Jermaine Dupri drops Shy D references to him in songs now an then (most recently in "Welcome To Atlanta")....
AMG describes the first album as very NYC mid-80s hip hop (ie it prob. sounds a lot like Def Jam/LL/Run-DMC)....but he did a bunch afterwards. I'd be interested to hear anyone's take on him that may have some of the records. Is he a hidden gem or just more revered in Atlanta for being one of the first rappers in the city?
