Darren Emerson played a colossal version at the Underwater party last back in February... any ideas?

Could it be the notorious Patrick Cowley 15 minute remix?

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 18 December 2003 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Why notorious? Cos it's 15 minutes long? Or because the bassline is played on a glockenspiel?

I quite like Curve's version, available on the NME's Ruby Trax double-disc compilation circa `92/`93. Sort've a goth-metal version, with Toni Halliday's breathy vocals. The pulsing Moroder bassline remains as infectious.

there's an amazing version (a remix?) on the New Order "Back to Mine" mix.

local montreal band the unireverse has just put out an amazing analog-synth driven version, called "u feel love." it's a split 12" with the lesbos on ecstasy and it's terrific!

Two Nice Girls don't just cover it, they interpolate Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" into it too.

the version on the New Order - Back to Mine CD is the 15-minute Patrick Cowley megamix, but it's edited to eight minutes. The 15-minute version is indescribably great. Better than the original. One of the best remixes ever.

Patrick Cowley's remix of I Feel Love is available as a bootleg on Ballroom records. It's been bootlegged before, I think. It's pretty amazing. I like starting it in the middle where it's just the Cowley part so you can't even tell it's I Feel Love at first.

But the Bronski Beat/Marc Almond version is pretty fun.

Donna Kebab is one of the best, but this one is great too:

Big Thrills
Donna Does Pills
WhiteLabel

It contains samples of "I feel love" & "lalaland" by green velvet!
I think you hear a snippet on www.dancerecords.com

The full, 15 minute version of the Cowley remix is available on the vinyl version of the Unabombers comp Electric Chair Basement Soul Music: A Detonation By The Unabombers. Still in print, and I believe forced exposure has copies.

Broheems (diamond), Friday, 19 December 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't it also on the vinyl version of the New Order 'Back to Mine'?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 19 December 2003 19:24 (twenty-two years ago)
