Right about now he'll be disappointed.

I thought it was pretty good when I borrowed if from a friend...I don't have some big definitive top 50 list in my head, so I couldn't say about that, but I think it is a fine Iron Maiden album

This is probably why I could never make it professionally as a music critic, but I cannot understand how, based purely on musical terms, the Animal Collective's latest album is better than Iron Maiden's latest album. I can only come up with fashionable considerations that anticipate Alex K, all of which urge me to keep my mouth shut.

And it even has a top ten and top twenty single to boot, ergo it is pop. Yay!

I've been anticipated???

Haven't heard it, and harbour no real desire to, actually. Brave New World was better than it had any right to be, but I just don't expect greatness from the band anymore. Also, the cover of the new one is so piss poor that it alone completely turned me off of the idea of picking it up.

Maiden is reaping the benefits of being pop in the year that pop broke....

I actually just re-borrowed Dance of Death and am listening to it now...it's really spiffy....

PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE MONITOR OF LIFE!

I do agree with Alex on the cover art though...if it ain't Derek Riggs, it ain't Maiden!

Alex K, Eddie has spoken to me of you. ;)

The cover's admittedly not great, but the album's firmly ensconced in my Top Ten for the year. Alex of NYC, you have no excuse for not buying this record (even your inexplicable love of Tod A won't get you past on this one).

I like "Rainmaker" and "Monseiguer" (sp?) quite a bit.

The rest of the album isn't all that great.
