"The Ballad of Jayne" vs. "House of Pain"

Both extremely well-written power ballds, and well-written songs in general, methinks. Inexplicably, even the lyrics are decent. But which is better?

(please, no "Jump Around" jokes)

Do you mean Van Halen's "House of Pain"?

No...Faster Pussycat's.

I like the second version of Ballad of Jayne more than the original, haven't heard the other song I'm afraid. BoJ pales in comparison to Don't Know What You Got Til It's Gone.

Faster Pussycat were such great rockers. I didn't dig their ballads all that much. But that first album was amazing. Sometimes I still walk around singing "Cathouse" and "Bathroom Wall". God they were great.

"Don't Change That Song" is Faster Pussycat's finest contribution.
