lay it on me. Heard a couple things in NZ that sounded nice and much less middle-of-the-road than I would have expected, really kinda nice 70s rock stuff.

Neil Finn and Dave Dobbyn guest on her latest, _Beautiful Collision_, yet she still writes all the songs. How's that for confidence? I had the same "eh..." attitude prior to hearing her, and while the album isn't a number one, it's a keeper. "Get Some Sleep" (off the cd) is the personal fave, a nice jangly song.

Plus, "she's got cheekbones like geometry..."

I picked up Beautiful Collision a few months ago because I'd read good things (and it was only $1.99), but I don't think I've even listened to it yet.

Now that I know Neil Finn's on there, I'll be digging it out shortly.

"Get Some Sleep" has been gradually working its way under my skin from occasional airplay - a very effective bit of polite low-key pop.

"Drive" was also a pleasant hit here from her first LP. Yeah, probably middle-of-the-road really, but she seems to do it pretty darn well.

she's covered a royal trux song live, apparently.

I wasn't going to say it again...

six years pass...

I've been listening to "Beautiful Collision" a bit for the first time in a while. "Get Some Sleep" is still fab. Nothing else quite reaches that standard, but there are some decent moments. Was that more recent album of hers any cop, does anyone know?
