Eeep. That Pearl Jam dvd is awful! On my satellite tv thing, there is a pay-per-view "Freeview" channel that loops a new set of programming every day for a month, and this month one of the programs is an edited two hour version of that PJ MSG dvd. It's shot very badly, the lighting is terrible, and the band are static and amazingly dull to watch. The performances were mediocre at best, and mindnumbingly tedious at worst (see: the extended soloing on "Even Flow.") There's just no excuse for them putting out a dvd so half-assed. It didn't HAVE to suck.

i got this massive coffee table book called "Music" edited by Paul du Noyer cos santy knows i like the stuff. and cos i'm a librarian i checked the index first then i went to a section that i know a bit about (Ragga) to assess the coverage and theres a picture of RZA captioned "reggae producer bobby digital etc etc" and i closed the book up, put it in a bag and haven't looked at it again.

I got a $600 Zegna jacket from my parents, but I got it last month, so it feels like I got nothing. My brother and his wife sent me a little Cuisinart food processor. Thanks to illness, I utterly lazed-out when it came to gift-giving this year. One brother got a check, the other a gift certificate for lobsters, my parents got espresso cups that I didn't even bother bringing over to their house (long story) and my grandma got lottery tickets, the only gift she ever really likes. None of my internet friends got anything this year, sorry.
