Nicky is probably very idealistic and revolutionary romantic, what he does forget however is that Fidel has been opressing outspoken musicians in Cuba for years. The irony is that if Nicky was a Cuban resident opposing the CUBAN regime, he would have been inprisoned.

But still, I believe he has good intentions and is a good fellow, it's just a shame he is blinded by his ideology.

Wire is really thick. I kinda see where he comes from sometimes, but just when you sort of think, "yeah maybe someone is right to go and play Cuba" you kind of realise that Wire is no Ernest Hemmingway and, despite his romantic notions, loves his little capitalist existence more than most people. And the words to "freedom of speech won't feed my children" just make you squirm.

Wire would be a lot lesser off in Cuba. It's interesting how such a punk rocker was happy to take off the eye liner and dress when asked to do so by Fidel.
