Hearing "Beat's So Lonely" by Charlie Sexton in a Gap store and feeling nothing, C or D?

I was trying to use a gift card there (good luck! I bought $80 worth of socks and white T-shirts) when I heard this 80's...classic? I couldn't remember if I liked it or hated it when it came out but now I felt nothing, absolutely nothing.

Ann, what the fuck do you have against shopping? Are you deformed?

Ann, you must sign out to convincingly respond to your own comments.

Gap is evil. Evil evil sweatshop clothes. That's why I buy 'em used.

Ann Sterzinger (Ann Sterzinger), Tuesday, 30 December 2003 05:39 (twenty-two years ago)

ACtually, it's more disturbing that you bothered... what're you up to, Kenan? I'm about to go home.

Ann Sterzinger (Ann Sterzinger), Tuesday, 30 December 2003 05:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have my setting so that I always see the name.

I'm doing nothing. Where are you at now?

BUT CHARLIE SEXTON SUCKS SO WHY FEEL BAD?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 30 December 2003 05:51 (twenty-two years ago)

But he's not feeling bad, he's feeling nothing! Just like Scarlet Johansen when she went to see the monks! Oh, the tragedy...

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Tuesday, 30 December 2003 05:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Charlie Sexton was always nothing....big haystack hair and nothing else. Never understood why anyone cared.

one year passes...
So, yeah, this song means nothing to me. Sounds like Billy Idol with Bryan Ferry production. You can't even tell he's a killer guitarist.

OTM. The last time I heard this, I noted the synth stings at the beginning, muttered "That's such a f***ing period piece," and...thought nothng else.

Dude was, like, 15 and got image-handled. Ridiculous to hold that against him. And "Beat's So Lonely" is a great song with a good and weird solo that says "very interesting guitarist here"...

And the Malcolm Burn-produced Under The Wishing Tree is a very good record.

So.

That apostrophe bothers me.

The men don't know, but the little girls understand.

He was the guitarist in Dylan's hottest band of the last 30 years, fer starters.

Seriously, I think my wife came to some Dylan shows a few years back only because of Sexton. I have a recording of Dylan's 2002 Newport Folk Fest appearance that a friend subtitled "... and Yummy Guitarist" based on a comment caught on tape.
