I just saw the video for "Pass That Dutch" and was a little awed. Particularly when there are a half dozen dancers dressed as Rerun.

"Pass That Dutch" and Goldfrapp's "Strict Machine" were my favorites from 2003.

i'd like to add goldfrapp's "twist" video.

yeh that's a goodun, directed by H5 who also did Massive Attack's 'Special Cases' (which seems a bit rubbish at first but then i saw the alternate version in which they swap the boy and girl around so to speak and it's very clever, esp. the way the switch happens just as they meet at that footpath junction in the park)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

i like Alex Rutterford's 'Go To Sleep' for Radiohead too

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 12:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna forget a few now, I'll add 'em later, but here are the ones I can think of now.

No Doubt, "It's My Life"
Jay-Z, "Change Clothes"
Pink, "Trouble"
The Strokes, "12:51"

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

should've mentioned Alex & Martin's 'Seven Nation Army' vid for Jack n' Meg already too

DarrensCoq (DarrenK), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Cat Power - "He-War" -> beautiful.

RHCP - "Can't Stop" -> something about Frusciante freely soloing under the falling pink foam is reason enough to make me jump up, grab my guitar and make some noise. everytime.

Johnny Cash - "Hurt" -> of course.

Pearl Jam - "Bushleaguer" -> just a montage of tour clips strung over a live cut, but done effectively and finally bringing a bit of life and enjoyable nonsense to vedder's leaden vocals on disc. cool dvd extra.

danger high voltage!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 14:03 (twenty-two years ago)

i guess 'Move Your Feet' counts too, tho it was already my favourite video of 2002

Outkast - "Hey Ya!" makes me feel happy

That Winnebago Deal one with all the zombies was pretty fun, but their music is awful.

Jane's Addiction - "Just Because" is a superior grade of performance video and much, much better than the overrated "Maps". The real reason that Karen O is crying in that video is because she was forced to wear that vile golf glove.

NME chart viewers have voted The Strokes' "12:51" ast the best video this year. No one makes worse video's than The Strokes. Their performances are even more apathetic than their music. Is this cool?

What is it with all the lost looking women in nu-metal/emo videos? Most curious trend of 2003?

The White Stripes haven't had any good videos apart from "Dead Leaves abd Dirty Ground" which wasn't this year.

"Danger, High Voltage!" was fantastic. "Gay Bar" not so, though Abraham Lincoln in leather shorts is genius.

Sigur Ros videos are over-pretentious garbage.

Here are a few more favorites:

"I Believe In A Thing Called Love," The Darkness
"Milkshake," Kelis
"Hey Ya," Outkast (though I'm so goddamn sick of this song I could scream - it's like the "Who Let The Dogs Out" of 2003 in that MTV and radio are pummelling me with it)

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I quite liked "The Hardest Button to Button" and "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. As much the the track began to bore me, I though the animation in the video for Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" was pretty cool. The Rapture's "House of Jealous Lovers" was pretty cool as well.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

The sexiest ones :

Beyonce "Crazy in love"
Kelis "Milkshake"
Whites Stripes "I just don't know what to do with myself"

The funniest ones :

Junior senior "move your feet"
Outkast "Hey ya"
The Darkness "I believe in a thing called love"

and my favorite ones :

Emilie Simon "Flowers"
The Rapture "House of jealous lovers"
Radiohead "There there"

Sami (Sami), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

The sexiest ones : Beyonce "Crazy in love"

Her "choreography" is about as sexy as filling out tax returns.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 31 December 2003 17:10 (twenty-two years ago)

MTV and radio are pummelling me with it

Well, quit watching MTV and listening to the radio, punkin.
