I disagree, they do not need defending, their music says it all ! you could not be more wrong *LINKIN PARK RULES* They have tremendous talent and could not be hotter.

A simple solution to your problem. DONT LISTEN TO THEM.
But as everyone, you are entitled to your opinion.

Yes indeed.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:32 (twenty years ago) link

me?
Personally?
I'm entitled to my opinion?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:32 (twenty years ago) link

i think we are all negating the importance of their hotness

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:33 (twenty years ago) link

I think they could be hotter. Like if they were covered in baby oil. That would make them hotter.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:34 (twenty years ago) link

Silvrkitten911, who in particular are you responding to?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:36 (twenty years ago) link

but then they would be rapping "now i'm smothered in this evil solution, but in my mind there's a revolution"

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:37 (twenty years ago) link

i dont know who it was i was responding to but it was someone whos title said- DEFEND THEM I DARE YOU .

Ewing likes Linkin Park

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:41 (twenty years ago) link

I don't know...does supporting them still put money into Jeff Blue's pocket? 'Cause he's kind of creepy.

dlp9001, Friday, 2 January 2004 18:41 (twenty years ago) link

Oh me oh my oh flee oh fly my cow has gone it might be dead the church's roofs are made of lead I see I hear they disappear the pond the lake the scaffold the rake it all becomes too much too much and everything is such a rush.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:43 (twenty years ago) link

Ethan and Miccio like 'em too. I think they're OK, especially with "In The End."

Silvrkitten911, it might be helpful for the rest of us if you quote or link to the person's original comment you're responding to.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:46 (twenty years ago) link

I already DONT LISTEN TO THEM - yet my problem still exists. So your advice isn't that great. And now I have the additional problem of wondering how much hotter Linkin Park would be if they were covered in baby oil.

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:47 (twenty years ago) link

topped with crushed peanuts

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:48 (twenty years ago) link

DON'T FORGET THE GRAAAVVVYYYY!!!!

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:49 (twenty years ago) link

I didn't hear a better breakdancing song this year than "Faint."

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:49 (twenty years ago) link

as in broken limbs?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:52 (twenty years ago) link

actually it would also be the best song I heard to indulge in some wicked kung fu to so yeah you could break limbs to it as well!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 2 January 2004 18:53 (twenty years ago) link

i don't mind 'Faint' tbh, or 'Session', or 'Nobody's Listening'

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 19:00 (twenty years ago) link

Ummmm...why not reply in the threads wherein the questions are posed?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 January 2004 19:40 (twenty years ago) link

If there's been anything good to come out of SPIN magazine the past few years, it was their referring to Mike Shinoda as an "endearingly flow-challenged MC". OTM.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 2 January 2004 19:42 (twenty years ago) link

haha, it should've been 'floetically challenged' tho

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 19:44 (twenty years ago) link

Oh yeah so anyway, Linkin Park are terrible. Bad songwriting, annoying guitar sounds, same stupid formula for every fucking song.

And you know what? Nu metal wasn't shitty enough, it needed to be pretentious too!

David Allen (David Allen), Friday, 2 January 2004 20:37 (twenty years ago) link

you're just saying they're pretentious because that one guy wears glasses sometimes. you think everyone who wears glasses is pretentious, don't you?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 20:41 (twenty years ago) link

I do and I am.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 2 January 2004 21:11 (twenty years ago) link

I liked "Papercut" and "One Step Closer" all right.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 2 January 2004 21:32 (twenty years ago) link

Hey, remember that time we got confused about why their name is spelled that way? Did we ever get an answer? AND-WHAT-DOES-IT-MEAN?

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 2 January 2004 22:05 (twenty years ago) link

Lincoln Park is a park in Chicago, I believe.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 2 January 2004 22:07 (twenty years ago) link

But why the spelling change? And why name yourself after a park in Chicago? does the park have special connotations?

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 2 January 2004 22:09 (twenty years ago) link

Bad speling is hardkore.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 2 January 2004 22:12 (twenty years ago) link

The theory is that there are more Lincoln Parks than you can count. They chose the name to represent EVERYwhere...so that all could identify with them. The spelling is just a nu-metal shenanigan.

And they suck harder than mere words can encapsulate.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 2 January 2004 22:14 (twenty years ago) link

I tried to convert UK ILX to "Faint" in the pub the other day with very limited success.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Friday, 2 January 2004 22:18 (twenty years ago) link

There's also a Lincoln Park in New Jersey, as I bet Fred Solinger would interject WERE HE STILL POSTING.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Friday, 2 January 2004 23:05 (twenty years ago) link

so is it really Cyprus Hill then?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 23:08 (twenty years ago) link

you're just saying they're pretentious because that one guy wears glasses sometimes. you think everyone who wears glasses is pretentious, don't you?
-- Huckleberry Mann (handsomishbo...), January 2nd, 2004.

Well the guy sitting behind the piano in their new video got on my nerves too.
