done did it, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

is that one crazy guy still in the libertines or is he still kicked out an on crack or whatever (I don't live in the UK so we don't get the daily updates)

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

done did it, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:48 (twenty-two years ago)

haha would that this wr a jess thread.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:49 (twenty-two years ago)

it will be fun...you'll get drunk for free and have fun stories to tell....

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

its going to be fun. but weird. i think i'm going to meet alot of really big celebrities. its the first non-indie thing i've done. i think its glasgow/birmingham/bristol/manchester and three brixton academy dates. but i can't do the bristol date.

done did it, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 19:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Three Brixtons equals like one Wembley Arena right? Jesus. They are surely not that big.

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

they are very big.

not that i've seen them nude. ha ha.

its been confirmed . its reality. i'm going out on tour. jesus, should i take a medical or something?

done did it, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, good luck, you'll have fun. Being the support band on a (short) major tour is one of the most amazing things ever - you get to have all the fun and don't have to do even half the work. And even if it sucks, hey, it's short. Don't forget to bring merch and put it on the stand - you can clean up, really!

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, it's not such a big deal, as long as your band knows what they're doing and you want to have a good time. :>

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

What band are you in? Its going to be fun playing to lots of people!

Stringent (Stringent), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:28 (twenty-two years ago)

This is a journalist following a band on tour, isn't it?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Cheers for the support! I'm not going to think about it anymore. It's freakin' me out man! I am lame. I can't do the bristol date because I will get fired from my day job. Sigh.

done did it, Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I am assuming 'tis Doomie, WBS

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 21 January 2004 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the celebs are done with the Libertines now aren't they?

who's the celeb band of the moment?

if the Libertine's weren't so shitty, i'd feel sorry for them. they're going to feel bad then they're back doing the pub circuit by the autumn.

KP, Friday, 23 January 2004 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

celeb band of the moment = franz ferdinand surely?

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 23 January 2004 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Heck, if you think the Libertines are big now, just wait six months..

(i.e. Very big...)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 23 January 2004 08:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats Doomie, the Libertines are pretty good and it should be an experience.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Friday, 23 January 2004 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

thanks, i think any monkey could follow the libertines around england and come back with at least a dozen good stories.

doomified, Friday, 23 January 2004 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Doomie,

Get off your arse and release that Summer Hits reissue already!

Kisses,

g!

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 23 January 2004 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

actually gygax! it looks like it is going to come out and in spring. ann has been in touch and buggin' me as well. did you hear the bad news about the beachwood sparxx : - (((((

doomified, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:09 (twenty-two years ago)

HATAZ 'R' (P)US

Doomie, what's the name of yr band? I seem to be underinformed, quite inadequately.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Friday, 23 January 2004 23:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh. So it was a journalistic thing? Argh, disregard my post, then. You should have clarified that at the beginning. really.

the river fleet, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

my band? we broke up. into three seperate yet distinct identities. i'm actually going on tour with the libertines to kill one of them off, you know.

who needs clarification? i just want AMPLIFICATION!

dr doom, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! how are you connected with the summer hits?

dr doom, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i was a big fan of their's (and further's) back in "the day".

the bad news about the beachwood sparks?
well the worst news was when josh left 3-4 years ago. and then aaron left a year and a half ago... i'm not really a fan (just josh's song "sweet julianne" that never made it onto their debut album oh and the sade cover).

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 23 January 2004 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! do you have any live tapes??? i could get joe to stick them on the reissue!

i don't think i should say anything about the beachwood sparks news. you'll hear it soon enough. : - (((( i.e. there is going to be three spin-off projects happening. the first one is pretty cool though.

dr doome, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't All Night Radio a Beachwood spin-off? What the hell is going on in this thread, anyways? What's with all the mystery?

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Friday, 23 January 2004 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

ahh no live tapes doomie, are you sure noone involved has any? did you check with darren/brent (obviously)? i'm pretty sure they played a set on kxlu on either farmer john, chris or aaron's shows.

beachwood sparks breakup is a long time coming. i'd like to see a strictly ballroom reunion... microhouse gram parsons.

xpost: all night radio are jimmy dntel plus farmer john i think.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 23 January 2004 23:57 (twenty-two years ago)

ahh no live tapes doomie, are you sure noone involved has any?

i think brent can't find them? i will ask joe and ann. i know that s/h's dude was talking about tapes.

beachwood sparks breakup is a long time coming. i'd like to see a strictly ballroom reunion... microhouse gram parsons.

who is strictly ballroom, gygax??

xpost: all night radio are jimmy dntel plus farmer john i think.

yeah, i think www.allnightradio.com has the song on there. from what i've heard - brent has a subpop project going and the chris has a rough trade project going. all night radio is pretty freaky. like a peter fonda trip.

dr doom, Friday, 23 January 2004 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

strictly ballroom was chris and aaron and jimmy's attempt to clone clikitat ikatowa but they were from LA not SD so it came off kinda glammy. chris and aaron joined further towards the very very end (for that final uk tour) and then they split into all this stuff: dntel, beachwood sparks, the tyde, the northern lights, and aaron joined the lilys for a few tours/records.

gygax! (gygax!), Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:03 (twenty-two years ago)

i really loved the blondes - any info on them gygax!?

doome, Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

incredulously - nothing happened as far i can see - hold on, before i start on some shit i've got to finish, i will turn off the colin blunstone and grab the blondes .. aaron joined the blondes, didnt he? they were called eagle. fuck me. wot a great album! summer fun cheap trick! wot's with this autumn dewilde chick?

doome, Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:12 (twenty-two years ago)

okay, eagle. the bass guy in eagle (when jason falkner wasn't available) and aaron backed kurt heasley up for a few shows in LA when he was recording precollections

gygax! (gygax!), Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:45 (twenty-two years ago)

My friend's dad was in the Zombies.

dean! (deangulberry), Saturday, 24 January 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

which member?

i got that album - that's the second??? the air dude played on it? WEIRD. i suddenly understand the jason faulkner guest spot on air now.

doom, Saturday, 24 January 2004 01:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Strictly Ballroom were great -- I loved how they would re-mix their rock songs live. One show, when they opened for Modest Mouse, was gorgeous. "A Picture" and "Crickets" are definitely *search*.
I remember Eagle from those days, too... and Otto (who became Arlo, also on Sub Pop). and W.A.C.O.... and Leather Hyman...

Ben Boyer (Ben Boyer), Saturday, 24 January 2004 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 17 August 2017 18:32 (eight years ago)

Who is support on the 'Tiddeley Om Pom Pom Tour’ of seven British Seaside towns? The tour's success is in their hands imo
